M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
19 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say unto them, Ye shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.
3 Ye shall fear, every man his mother and his father and keep my sabbaths. I AM your God.
4 Do not return unto idols nor make to yourselves molten gods. I AM your God.
5 And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace unto the LORD, ye shall offer it of your own free will.
6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it and on the next day, and any remaining until the third day shall be burnt in the fire.
7 And if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted;
8 and whoever eats it shall bear his iniquity because he has profaned the holiness of the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.
9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not completely reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen grapes of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger. I AM your God.
11 ¶ Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou defile the name of thy God. I am the LORD.
13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him. Do not detain the wages of the work of the hired man in thy house until the morning.
14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God. I am the LORD.
15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, neither pleasing the poor, nor favoring the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Thou shalt not travel about as a talebearer among thy people; neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour. I am the LORD.
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart; thou shalt rebuke thy neighbour in sincerity, that thou not bear sin for him.
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the sons of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. I am the LORD.
19 ¶ Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy animal join with a diverse kind for mixtures; thou shalt not sow thy field with mixture, neither shalt thou wear garments of a mixture of different things.
20 And when a man lies carnally with a woman that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband and has not been completely ransomed nor been given her freedom, both shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death because she is not free.
21 And he shall bring in expiation for his guilt unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, a ram for expiation of guilt.
22 And the priest shall reconcile him with the ram of the guilt before the LORD for his sin which he has committed, and the sin which he has committed shall be forgiven him.
23 And when ye have come into the land and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall circumcise the foreskin of the fruit; three years it shall be uncircumcised unto you; it shall not be eaten of.
24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holiness of rejoicing unto the LORD.
25 And in the fifth year ye shall eat of the fruit thereof that it may yield unto you the increase thereof. I AM your God.
26 Ye shall not eat any thing with blood. Ye shall not be fortunetellers, nor diviners.
27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am the LORD.
29 Do not contaminate thy daughter, causing her to commit fornication, lest the land be prostituted, and the land become full of wickedness.
30 ¶ Ye shall keep my sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
31 Do not return unto spiritists or seek after diviners, to be defiled by them. I AM your God.
32 Thou shalt rise up before grey hair and honour the face of the elder and fear thy God. I am the LORD.
33 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not oppress him.
34 But the stranger that dwells with you shall be as the natural of yourselves, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. I AM your God.
35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measurement of land, in weight, or in other measure.
36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin shall ye have. I AM your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37 Keep, therefore, all my statutes and all my rights and do them. I am the LORD.
A Psalm of David.
1 ¶ The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me.
5 Thou shalt prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup is running over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will rest in the house of the LORD for ever.
A Psalm of David.
1 ¶ The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein.
2 For he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
3 ¶ Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in the place of his holiness?
4 He that has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not taken my name in vain, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his saving health.
6 This is the generation of those that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
7 ¶ Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of the hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
2 ¶ I said in my heart, Come now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy good things; and, behold, this also is vanity.
2 I said of laughter, It is mad, and of mirth, What does it do?
3 I proposed in my heart to regale my flesh with wine and that my heart would walk in wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, until I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
4 I made myself great works; I built myself houses; I planted myself vineyards;
5 I made myself gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits;
6 I made myself pools of water, to water with them the forest that brings forth trees;
7 I got myself slaves and maidens and had sons born in my house; also I had great possessions of cattle and sheep above all that were in Jerusalem before me;
8 I gathered unto myself also silver and gold and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces; I obtained men singers and women singers and all the delights of the sons of men, musical instruments, and those of all sorts.
9 So I was great and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem, and more than that, my wisdom remained with me.
10 And whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them; I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour, and this was my portion of all my labour.
11 At last I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought and on the labour that I had laboured to do; and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
12 ¶ And I turned myself to behold wisdom and those who are mad, and folly; for what can the man do that comes after the king? even that which has already been done.
13 And I have seen that wisdom excels folly as far as light excels darkness.
14 The wise man has his eyes in his head, but the fool walks in darkness: And I myself also understood that one event happens to the one and to the other.
15 Then I said in my heart, As it shall happen to the fool, so it shall happen even to me. Why have I worked until now to make myself wiser? Then I said in my heart that this also is vanity.
16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever, seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And also the wise man shall die the same as the fool.
17 ¶ Therefore I hated life because every work that is wrought under the sun was grievous unto me; for all was vanity and vexation of spirit.
18 Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun, which I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.
19 And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool, he who shall have rule over all my labour in which I have laboured and in which I have showed myself wise under the sun? This is also vanity.
20 Therefore my heart began to despair again regarding all the labour which I took under the sun.
21 That the man who worked with wisdom and with knowledge and with uprightness would have to leave his portion to a man that has not laboured therein. This also is vanity and a great evil.
22 For what does man have of all his labour and of the vexation of his heart in which he has laboured under the sun?
23 For all his days are only sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart does not take rest in the night. This is also vanity.
24 There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. I also have seen that this is from the hand of God.
25 For who can eat, or who can care for himself better than I?
26 For God gives to the man that is good in his sight wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to the one that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
4 ¶ Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, listening to spirits of error and doctrines of demons;
2 that in hypocrisy shall speak lies; having their conscience seared as with a hot iron;
3 they shall forbid to marry and shall command men to abstain from foods, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are faithful and have known the truth.
4 For everything that God created is good, and nothing is to be refused, if it is received with thanksgiving,
5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6 ¶ If thou put these things before the brethren, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, unto which thou hast attained.
7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
9 The Word is faithful and worthy of acceptation by all.
10 For this we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11 Command and teach this.
12 Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the faithful in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Until I come, occupy thyself reading, exhorting, teaching.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which is given unto thee to prophesy, through the laying on of the hands of the elders.
15 Occupy thyself in these things with care, for in this is everything, that thy profiting may be manifest unto all.
16 Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; be diligent in this, for in doing so thou shalt both save thyself and those that hear thee.
