Psalm 66-67

Praise to God for His Awesome Works

To the Chief Musician. A Song. A Psalm.

66 Make (A)a joyful shout to God, all the earth!
Sing out the honor of His name;
Make His praise glorious.
Say to God,
“How (B)awesome are Your works!
(C)Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.
(D)All the earth shall worship You
And sing praises to You;
They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah

Come and see the works of God;
He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men.
(E)He turned the sea into dry land;
(F)They went through the river on foot.
There we will rejoice in Him.
He rules by His power forever;
His eyes observe the nations;
Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

Oh, bless our God, you peoples!
And make the voice of His praise to be heard,
Who keeps our soul among the living,
And does not allow our feet to [a]be moved.
10 For (G)You, O God, have tested us;
(H)You have refined us as silver is refined.
11 (I)You brought us into the net;
You laid affliction on our backs.
12 (J)You have caused men to ride over our heads;
(K)We went through fire and through water;
But You brought us out to [b]rich fulfillment.

13 (L)I will go into Your house with burnt offerings;
(M)I will pay You my [c]vows,
14 Which my lips have uttered
And my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer You burnt sacrifices of fat animals,
With the sweet aroma of rams;
I will offer bulls with goats. Selah

16 Come and hear, all you who fear God,
And I will declare what He has done for my soul.
17 I cried to Him with my mouth,
And He was [d]extolled with my tongue.
18 (N)If I regard iniquity in my heart,
The Lord will not hear.
19 But certainly God (O)has heard me;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.

20 Blessed be God,
Who has not turned away my prayer,
Nor His mercy from me!

An Invocation and a Doxology

To the Chief Musician. On [e]stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.

67 God be merciful to us and bless us,
And (P)cause His face to shine upon us, Selah
That (Q)Your way may be known on earth,
(R)Your salvation among all nations.

Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!
For (S)You shall judge the people righteously,
And govern the nations on earth. Selah

Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
(T)Then the earth shall [f]yield her increase;
God, our own God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us,
And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Ezekiel 3:4-11

Then He said to me: “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them. For you are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, but to the house of Israel, not to many people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, (A)had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you. But the house of Israel will not listen to you, (B)because they will not listen to Me; (C)for all the house of Israel are [a]impudent and hard-hearted. Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. (D)Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; (E)do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”

10 Moreover He said to me: “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears. 11 And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, (F)‘Thus says the Lord God,’ whether they hear, or whether they refuse.”

Acts 10:34-44

Preaching to Cornelius’ Household

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: (A)“In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But (B)in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is (C)accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the [a]children of Israel, (D)preaching peace through Jesus Christ—(E)He is Lord of all— 37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and (F)began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how (G)God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who (H)went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, (I)for God was with Him. 39 And we are (J)witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom [b]they (K)killed by hanging on a tree. 40 Him (L)God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 (M)not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us (N)who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 And (O)He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify (P)that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge (Q)of the living and the dead. 43 (R)To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, (S)whoever believes in Him will receive (T)remission[c] of sins.”

The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, (U)the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.

Psalm 118

Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy

118 Oh, (A)give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
(B)For His mercy endures forever.

(C)Let Israel now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let those who fear the Lord now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”

(D)I called on the Lord in distress;
The Lord answered me and (E)set me in a broad place.
(F)The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
(G)The Lord is for me among those who help me;
Therefore (H)I shall see my desire on those who hate me.
(I)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.
(J)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in princes.

10 All nations surrounded me,
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
11 They (K)surrounded me,
Yes, they surrounded me;
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
12 They surrounded me (L)like bees;
They were quenched (M)like a fire of thorns;
For in the name of the Lord I will [a]destroy them.
13 You pushed me violently, that I might fall,
But the Lord helped me.
14 (N)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation
Is in the tents of the righteous;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
16 (O)The right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
17 (P)I shall not die, but live,
And (Q)declare the works of the Lord.
18 The Lord has (R)chastened[b] me severely,
But He has not given me over to death.

19 (S)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
20 (T)This is the gate of the Lord,
(U)Through which the righteous shall enter.

21 I will praise You,
For You have (V)answered me,
And have become my salvation.

22 (W)The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
23 [c]This was the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I pray, O Lord;
O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.
26 (X)Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.
27 God is the Lord,
And He has given us (Y)light;
Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.
28 You are my God, and I will praise You;
(Z)You are my God, I will exalt You.

29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

John 21:15-22

Jesus Restores Peter

15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of [a]Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I [b]love You.”

He said to him, (A)“Feed My lambs.”

16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of [c]Jonah, do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I [d]love You.”

(B)He said to him, “Tend My (C)sheep.”

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of [e]Jonah, do you [f]love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, (D)You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. 18 (E)Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” 19 This He spoke, signifying (F)by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, (G)“Follow Me.”

The Beloved Disciple and His Book

20 Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple (H)whom Jesus loved following, (I)who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” 21 Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?”

22 Jesus said to him, “If I [g]will that he remain (J)till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”
