Book of Common Prayer
Praise to God in His Holiness and Majesty
A Psalm of David.
29 Give[a] (A)unto the Lord, O you mighty ones,
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
2 [b]Give unto the Lord the glory [c]due to His name;
Worship the Lord in (B)the [d]beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
(C)The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks (D)the cedars,
Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
6 (E)He makes them also skip like a calf,
Lebanon and (F)Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord [e]divides the flames of fire.
A Song of Praise to the Lord for His Salvation and Judgment
A Psalm.
98 Oh, (A)sing to the Lord a new song!
For He has (B)done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
2 (C)The Lord has made known His salvation;
(D)His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the [a]nations.
3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(E)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
5 Sing to the Lord with the harp,
With the harp and the sound of a psalm,
6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn;
Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.
18 “For I know their works and their (A)thoughts. It shall be that I will (B)gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory. 19 (C)I will set a sign among them; and those among them who escape I will send to the nations: to Tarshish and [a]Pul and Lud, who draw the bow, and Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off who have not heard My fame nor seen My glory. (D)And they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles. 20 Then they shall (E)bring all your brethren (F)for an offering to the Lord out of all nations, on horses and in chariots and in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord. 21 And I will also take some of them for (G)priests and Levites,” says the Lord.
22 “For as (H)the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord,
“So shall your descendants and your name remain.
23 And (I)it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
(J)All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.
Glorify God Together
7 Therefore (A)receive one another, just (B)as Christ also received [a]us, to the glory of God. 8 Now I say that (C)Jesus Christ has become a [b]servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, (D)to confirm the promises made to the fathers, 9 and (E)that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written:
(F)“For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles,
And sing to Your name.”
10 And again he says:
(G)“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!”
11 And again:
(H)“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles!
Laud Him, all you peoples!”
12 And again, Isaiah says:
(I)“There shall be a root of Jesse;
And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles,
In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”
13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all (J)joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
