God’s Covenant with Abram
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
-
And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”
-
“So it was, when we went up to your servant my father, that we told him the words of my lord.
-
So Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him, and all the signs which He had commanded him.
-
And Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had spoken to Moses. Then he did the signs in the sight of the people.
-
So the Lord did according to the word of Moses. And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courtyards, and out of the fields.
-
And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained.
-
He who feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his livestock flee to the houses.
-
But he who did not regard the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field.
-
So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him.
-
Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.
-
And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” So Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.
-
So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which the Lord has said we will do.”
-
And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
-
And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you according to all these words.”
-
Moses Makes New Tablets
And the Lord said to Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke.
-
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”
-
So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
-
Sabbath Regulations
Then Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said to them, “These are the words which the Lord has commanded you to do:
-
You shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you.” And they did according to the word of Moses.
-
So Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded.
-
And Moses gave their redemption money to Aaron and his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.
-
These are the ones who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
-
So Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord, and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the tabernacle.
-
Because he has despised the word of the Lord, and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt shall be upon him.’ ”
