Psalm 138

The Lord’s Goodness to the Faithful

A Psalm of David.

138 I will praise You with my whole heart;
(A)Before the gods I will sing praises to You.
(B)I will worship (C)toward Your holy temple,
And praise Your name
For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have (D)magnified Your word above all Your name.
In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.

(E)All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord,
When they hear the words of Your mouth.
Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord,
For great is the glory of the Lord.
(F)Though the Lord is on high,
Yet (G)He regards the lowly;
But the proud He knows from afar.

(H)Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand
Against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will save me.
(I)The Lord will [a]perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
(J)Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Judges 3:7-11

Othniel

So the children of Israel did (A)evil in the sight of the Lord. They (B)forgot the Lord their God, and served the Baals and [a]Asherahs. Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He (C)sold them into the hand of (D)Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years. When the children of Israel (E)cried out to the Lord, the Lord (F)raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: (G)Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother. 10 (H)The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-Rishathaim. 11 So the land had rest for forty years. Then Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

Luke 4:42-44

Jesus Preaches in Galilee(A)

42 (B)Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; 43 but He said to them, “I must (C)preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” 44 (D)And He was preaching in the synagogues of [a]Galilee.
