New English Translation (NET)
Version
Psalm 118:1-2

Psalm 118[a]

118 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
and his loyal love endures.[b]
Let Israel say,
“Yes, his loyal love endures.”

Psalm 118:14-24

14 The Lord gives me strength and protects me;[a]
he has become my deliverer.”[b]
15 They celebrate deliverance in the tents of the godly.[c]
The Lord’s right hand conquers.[d]
16 The Lord’s right hand gives victory;[e]
the Lord’s right hand conquers.
17 I will not die, but live,
and I will proclaim what the Lord has done.[f]
18 The Lord severely[g] punished me,
but he did not hand me over to death.
19 Open for me the gates of the just king’s temple.[h]
I will enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.
20 This is the Lord’s gate—
the godly enter through it.
21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me,
and have become my deliverer.
22 The stone that the builders discarded[i]
has become the cornerstone.[j]
23 This is the Lord’s work.
We consider it amazing![k]
24 This is the day the Lord has brought about.[l]
We will be happy and rejoice in it.

Genesis 1:20-2:4

20 God said, “Let the water swarm with swarms[a] of living creatures and let birds fly[b] above the earth across the expanse of the sky.” 21 God created the great sea creatures[c] and every living and moving thing with which the water swarmed, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them[d] and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.”[e] 23 There was evening, and there was morning, a fifth day.

24 God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: cattle, creeping things, and wild animals, each according to its kind.”[f] It was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the cattle according to their kinds, and all the creatures that creep along the ground according to their kinds. God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let us make[g] humankind[h] in our image, after our likeness,[i] so they may rule[j] over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth,[k] and over all the creatures that move[l] on the earth.”

27 God created humankind[m] in his own image,
in the image of God he created them,[n]
male and female he created them.[o]

28 God blessed[p] them and said[q] to them, “Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it![r] Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground.”[s] 29 Then God said, “I now[t] give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the entire earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.[u] 30 And to all the animals of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has living breath[v] in it—I give[w] every green plant for food.” It was so.

31 God saw all that he had made—and it was very good![x] There was evening, and there was morning, the sixth day.

The heavens and the earth[y] were completed with everything that was in them.[z] By[aa] the seventh day God finished the work that he had been doing,[ab] and he ceased[ac] on the seventh day all the work that he had been doing. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy[ad] because on it he ceased all the work that he[ae] had been doing in creation.[af]

The Creation of Man and Woman

This is the account[ag] of the heavens and the earth[ah] when they were created—when[ai] the Lord God[aj] made the earth and heavens.[ak]

1 Corinthians 15:50-58

50 Now this is what I am saying, brothers and sisters:[a] Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen,[b] I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep,[c] but we will all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the blinking[d] of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen,

Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[e]
55 Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?[f]

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 58 So then, dear brothers and sisters,[g] be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
