29 The chief of them [f]received it for their brethren, and they came to the [g]curse and to the oath to walk in God’s Law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our God, and his judgments and his statutes:

30 And that we would not give our daughters to the people of the land, neither take their daughters for our sons.

31 And if the people of the land brought ware on the Sabbath, or any vittles to sell, [h]that we would not take it of them on the Sabbath, and on the holy days: (A)and that we would let the seventh year be free, and the debts of every [i]person.

32 And we made statutes for ourselves to give by the year, the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God,

33 For the [j]showbread, and for the daily offering, and for the daily burnt offering, the Sabbaths, the new moons, for the solemn feasts, and for the things that were sanctified, and for the sin offerings, to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.

34 We cast also lots for the offering of the wood, even the Priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring it into the house of our God, [k]by the house of our fathers, yearly at the times appointed, to burn it upon the Altar of the Lord our God, as it is written in the Law,

38 And the Priest, the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes, and the Levites shall (B)bring up the tenth part of the tithes unto the house of our God, unto the chambers of the treasure house.

39 For the children of Israel, and the children of Levi shall bring up the offering of the corn, of the wine, and of the oil, unto the chambers: and there shall be the vessels of the Sanctuary, and the Priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers, and [n]we will not forsake the house of our God.

11 1 Who dwelled in Jerusalem after it was built,  20 and who in the cities of Judah.

And the rulers of the people dwelt in Jerusalem: the other people also cast lots, [o]to bring one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to be in the cities.

And the people thanked all the men that were willing to dwell in Jerusalem.

These now are the chief of the province, that dwelt in Jerusalem, but in the cities of Judah, everyone dwelt in his own possession in their cities of Israel, the Priests and the Levites, and the Nethinim, and the sons of Solomon’s servants.

And in Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin: Of the sons of Judah, Athaiah, the son of Uziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the sons of [p]Perez,

21 And the Nethinim dwelt in the [x]fortress, and Ziha, and Gispa was over the Nethinim.

22 And the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha: of the sons of Asaph singers were over the work of the house of God.

23 For it was the king’s commandment concerning them, that faithful provision should be for the singers every day.

24 And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah, the son of Judah [y]was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.

25 And in the villages in their lands, some of the children of Judah dwelt in Kirjath Arba, and in the villages thereof, and in Dibon, and in the villages thereof, and in Jekabzeel, and in the villages thereof,

Acts 4:1-22

1 Peter and John,  3 are taken and brought before the council, 7 and 19 They speak boldly in Christ’s cause. 24 The disciples pray unto God. 32 Many sell their possessions. 36 Of whom Barnabas is one.

And [a]as they spake unto the people, the Priests and the [b]Captain of the Temple, and the Sadducees came upon them.

Taking it grievously that they taught the people, and preached in Jesus’ Name the resurrection from the dead.

And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold, until the next day, for it was now eventide.

Howbeit many of them which heard the word, believed, and the [c]number of the men was about five thousand.

¶ And it came to pass on the morrow, that their [d]rulers, and Elders, and Scribes, were gathered together at Jerusalem,

And Annas the chief Priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the [e]kindred of the high Priest.

[f]And when they had set them before them, they asked, By what power, or in what [g]Name have ye done this?

Then Peter full of the holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and Elders of Israel,

[h]For as much as we this day are examined, of the good deed done to the impotent man, to wit, by what means he is made whole,

10 [i]Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye have crucified, whom God raised again from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you, whole.

11 (A)This is the stone cast aside of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for among men there is [j]given none other [k]Name [l]under heaven, whereby we must be saved.

13 [m]Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and understood that they were unlearned men and without [n]knowledge, they marveled, and knew them, that they had been with Jesus:

14 And beholding also the man which was healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against it.

15 Then they commanded them to go aside out of the Council, and [o]conferred among themselves,

16 [p]Saying, What shall we do to these men? for surely a manifest sign is done by them, and it is openly known to all them that dwell in Jerusalem: and we cannot deny it.

17 But that it be noised no farther among the people, let us threaten and charge them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this Name.

18 So they called them, and commanded them, that in no wise they should speak or teach in the Name of Jesus.

19 [q]But Peter and John answered unto them, and said, Whether it be right in the sight of God, to obey you rather than God, judge ye.

20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

21 [r]So they threatened them, and let them go, and found nothing how to punish them, because of the people: for all men praised God for that which was done.

22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was showed.
