M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
Statutes About Cities of Refuge
19 “(A)When Yahweh your God cuts off the nations, whose land Yahweh your God gives you, and you dispossess them and settle in their cities and in their houses, 2 (B)you shall set apart three cities for yourself in the midst of your land, which Yahweh your God gives you to [a]possess. 3 You shall prepare the [b]roads for yourself, and divide into three parts the territory of your land which Yahweh your God will give you to inherit, [c]so that any manslayer may flee there.
4 “(C)Now this is the case of the manslayer who may flee there and live: when he strikes down his friend [d]without premeditation, [e]not hating him previously— 5 as when a man goes into the forest with his friend to cut wood, and his hand [f]swings the axe to cut down the tree, and the iron head slips off the [g]handle and [h]strikes his friend so that he dies—he may flee to one of these cities and live; 6 lest the avenger of blood pursue the manslayer when his heart is [i]angry, and overtake him, because the way is long, and [j]strike down his life, though he was not deserving of death, since he had not hated him previously. 7 Therefore, I am commanding you, saying, ‘You shall set apart three cities for yourself.’
8 “Now if Yahweh your God (D)enlarges your territory, just as He has sworn to your fathers, and gives you all the land which He [k]promised to give to your fathers— 9 if you [l]be careful to do all this commandment which I am commanding you today, (E)to love Yahweh your God and to walk in His ways all your days—(F)then you shall add three more cities for yourself, besides these three. 10 So innocent blood will not be shed in the midst of your land which Yahweh your God gives you as an inheritance, and (G)bloodguiltiness be on you.
11 “But (H)if there is a man who hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him and rises up against him and strikes down [m]his life so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities, 12 then the elders of his city shall send and take him from there and give him over into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. 13 [n](I)You shall not pity him, but (J)you shall purge the blood of the innocent from Israel, that it may go well with you.
Statutes About Boundaries and Witnesses
14 “(K)You shall not move your neighbor’s boundary mark, which the ancestors have set, in your inheritance which you will inherit in the land that Yahweh your God gives you to [o]possess.
15 “(L)A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin [p]which he has committed; at the mouth of two or three witnesses a matter shall be established. 16 (M)If a malicious witness rises up against a man to [q]accuse him of [r]wrongdoing, 17 then both the men who have the dispute shall stand (N)before Yahweh, before the priests and the judges who will be in office in those days. 18 And the judges (O)shall inquire thoroughly, and behold, if the witness is a false witness and he has [s]accused his brother falsely, 19 then (P)you shall do to him just as he had intended to do to his brother. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you. 20 (Q)And the rest will hear and be afraid and will never again do such an evil thing among you. 21 Thus (R)your eye shall not show pity: (S)life for life, (T)eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
Remember Me, O Yahweh
106 [a]Praise Yah!
Oh (A)give thanks to Yahweh, for He (B)is good;
For (C)His lovingkindness endures forever.
2 Who can speak of the (D)mighty deeds of Yahweh,
Or can make all His praise to be heard?
3 How blessed are those who keep [b]justice,
[c]And he who (E)does righteousness at all times!
4 Remember me, O Yahweh, in Your (F)favor [d]toward Your people;
Visit me with Your salvation,
5 That I may see the (G)goodness of Your chosen ones,
That I may (H)rejoice in the gladness of Your nation,
That I may (I)boast with Your [e]inheritance.
6 (J)We have sinned (K)with our fathers,
We have committed iniquity, we have acted wickedly.
7 Our fathers in Egypt did not consider Your wondrous deeds;
They (L)did not remember Your abundant lovingkindnesses,
But they (M)rebelled by the sea, at the [f]Red Sea.
8 Yet He saved them (N)for the sake of His name,
That He might (O)make His might known.
9 Thus He (P)rebuked the [g]Red Sea and it (Q)dried up,
And He (R)led them through the deeps, as through the wilderness.
10 So He (S)saved them from the [h]hand of the one who hated them,
And (T)redeemed them from the [i]hand of the enemy.
11 (U)The waters covered their adversaries;
Not one of them was left.
12 Then they (V)believed His words;
They (W)sang His praise.
13 They quickly (X)forgot His works;
They (Y)did not wait for His counsel,
14 But (Z)craved intensely in the wilderness,
And (AA)put God to the test in the wasteland.
15 So He (AB)gave them their request,
But (AC)sent a [j]wasting disease against their lives.
16 Then they became (AD)envious of Moses in the camp,
And of Aaron, the holy one of Yahweh,
17 The (AE)earth opened and swallowed up Dathan,
And covered up the [k]company of Abiram.
18 And a (AF)fire burned up in their company;
The flame consumed the wicked.
19 They (AG)made a calf in Horeb
And worshiped a molten image.
20 Thus they (AH)exchanged their glory
For the image of an ox that eats grass.
21 They (AI)forgot God their Savior,
Who had done (AJ)great things in Egypt,
22 (AK)Wondrous deeds in the land of Ham
And awesome things by the [l]Red Sea.
23 Therefore (AL)He said that He would destroy them,
Had not (AM)Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him,
To turn away His wrath from [m]eradicating them.
24 Then they (AN)despised the (AO)pleasant land;
They (AP)did not believe in His word,
25 But (AQ)grumbled in their tents;
They did not listen to the voice of Yahweh.
26 So He [n](AR)swore to them
To make them fall in the wilderness,
27 And to (AS)make their seed fall among the nations
And to (AT)scatter them in the lands.
28 They then (AU)joined themselves to [o]Baal-peor,
And ate (AV)sacrifices offered to the dead.
29 Thus they (AW)provoked Him to anger with their actions,
And the plague broke out among them.
30 Then Phinehas (AX)stood up and interceded,
And so the (AY)plague was checked.
31 And it was (AZ)counted to him for righteousness,
From generation to generation forever.
32 They also (BA)provoked Him to wrath at the waters of [p]Meribah,
So that it (BB)went badly with Moses on their account;
33 Because they (BC)were rebellious against [q]His Spirit,
He spoke rashly with his lips.
34 They (BD)did not destroy the peoples,
As (BE)Yahweh commanded them,
35 But (BF)they mingled with the nations
And learned their works,
36 And (BG)served their idols,
(BH)Which became a snare to them.
37 They (BI)sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the (BJ)demons,
38 And they shed (BK)innocent blood,
The blood of their (BL)sons and their daughters,
Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;
And the land was (BM)polluted with the blood.
39 Thus they became (BN)unclean in their works,
And (BO)played the harlot in their actions.
40 So the (BP)anger of Yahweh was kindled against His people
And He (BQ)abhorred His [r](BR)inheritance.
41 Then (BS)He gave them into the hand of the [s]nations,
And those who hated them ruled over them.
42 Their enemies (BT)oppressed them,
And they were subdued under their hand.
43 Many times He would (BU)deliver them;
But they were rebellious in their (BV)counsel,
And so they (BW)sank down in their iniquity.
Babylon’s Idols and the True God
46 (A)Bel has bowed down, Nebo stoops over;
Their images are on the beasts and the cattle.
The things [a]that you carry are burdensome,
A load for the weary beast.
2 They stooped over, they have bowed down together;
They could not rescue the load,
But [b]have themselves (B)gone into captivity.
3 “(C)Hear Me, O house of Jacob,
And all (D)the remnant of the house of Israel,
You who have been (E)burdening Me from [c]birth
And have been carried from the womb;
4 Even to your old age [d](F)I will be the same,
And even to your [e](G)graying years I will bear you!
I have [f]done it, and I will carry you;
And I will bear you, and I will rescue you.
5 “(H)To whom would you liken Me
And make Me equal and compare Me,
That we would be alike?
6 Those who (I)lavish gold from the purse
And weigh silver on the scale,
They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;
They (J)fall down, indeed they worship it.
7 They (K)carry it upon the shoulder and bear it;
They set it in its place, and it stands there.
(L)It does not move from its place.
Though one may cry to it, it (M)cannot answer;
It (N)cannot save him from his distress.
8 “(O)Remember this, and be [g]assured;
(P)Cause it to return to your heart, you (Q)transgressors.
9 Remember the (R)former things long past,
For I am God, and there is (S)no other;
I am God, and there is (T)no one like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying, ‘(U)My counsel will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’,
11 Calling a (V)bird of prey from the (W)east,
The man of [h]My counsel from a far country.
Truly I have (X)spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.
I have formed it, surely I will do it.
The Seven Bowls of God’s Wrath
16 Then I heard a loud voice from (A)the sanctuary, saying to the (B)seven angels, “Go and (C)pour out [a]on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”
2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl [b](D)on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant (E)sore on the [c]people (F)who have the mark of the beast and who worship his image.
3 And the second angel poured out his bowl (G)into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man, and every living [d]thing in the sea died.
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the (H)rivers and the springs of waters, and they (I)became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “(J)Righteous are You, (K)who is and who was, O (L)Holy One, because You (M)judged these things; 6 for they poured out (N)the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them (O)blood to drink. They [e]deserve it.” 7 And I heard (P)the altar saying, “Yes, O [f](Q)Lord God, the Almighty, (R)true and righteous are Your judgments.”
8 And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon (S)the sun, (T)and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with [g]fierce heat, and they (U)blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they (V)did not repent so as to (W)give Him glory.
10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the (X)throne of the beast, and his kingdom became (Y)darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, 11 and they (Z)blasphemed the (AA)God of heaven because of their pains and their (AB)sores, and they (AC)did not repent of their deeds.
12 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the (AD)great river, the Euphrates, and (AE)its water was dried up, so that (AF)the way would be prepared for the kings (AG)from the [h]east. 13 Then I saw coming out of the mouth of the (AH)dragon and out of the mouth of the (AI)beast and out of the mouth of the (AJ)false prophet, three (AK)unclean spirits like (AL)frogs; 14 for they are (AM)spirits of demons, (AN)doing signs, which go out to the kings of the (AO)whole [i]world, to (AP)gather them together for the war of the (AQ)great day of God, the Almighty. 15 (“Behold, (AR)I am coming like a thief. (AS)Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his garments, (AT)so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”) 16 And they (AU)gathered them together to the place which (AV)in Hebrew is called [j](AW)Har-Magedon.
The Seventh Bowl
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon (AX)the air, and a (AY)loud voice came out of the (AZ)sanctuary from the throne, saying, “(BA)It is done.” 18 And there were flashes of (BB)lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was (BC)a great earthquake, (BD)such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. 19 (BE)And the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the [k]nations fell. (BF)Babylon the great was (BG)remembered before God, to give her (BH)the cup of the wine of the wrath of His rage. 20 And (BI)every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And (BJ)huge [l]hailstones, about one [m]talent each, *came down from heaven upon men; and men (BK)blasphemed God because of the (BL)plague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely [n]severe.
