Deuteronomy 26

26 ¶ And it shall be when thou art come in unto the land, which the LORD thy God gives thee for an inheritance and possess it and dwell therein,

thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God gives thee, and shalt put it in a basket and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to cause his name to dwell.

And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days and say unto him, I declare today unto the LORD thy God that I have entered into the land which the LORD swore unto our fathers to give us.

And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God.

Then thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, My father, the Syrian, perishing of hunger went down into Egypt and sojourned there with a few and became there a nation, great, mighty, and many;

and the Egyptians mistreated us and afflicted us and laid upon us hard bondage.

And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labour and our oppression.

And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with great terribleness and with signs and with wonders;

and he has brought us into this place and has given us this land, even a land that flows with milk and honey.

10 And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God and worship before the LORD thy God.

11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God has given unto thee and unto thine house, thou and the Levite and the stranger that is among you.

12 ¶ When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thy fruits the third year, which is the year of tithing and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates and be filled;

13 then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought the consecrated things out of my house and also have given them unto the Levite and unto the stranger to the fatherless and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me; I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them.

14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken out any of it being unclean, nor have I given any of it for the dead; but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

15 Look down from the habitation of thy holiness, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel and the land which thou hast given us, as thou didst sware unto our fathers, a land that flows with milk and honey.

16 ¶ Today the LORD thy God has commanded thee to comply with these statutes and rights; take care, therefore, to keep and do them with all thine heart and with all thy soul.

17 Thou hast lifted up the LORD today to be thy God and to walk in his ways and to keep his statutes and his commandments and his rights and to hearken unto his voice.

18 And the LORD has lifted thee up this day to be his unique people, as he has promised thee, and that thou should keep all his commandments,

19 and to make thee high above all the Gentiles which he has made, in praise, and in fame, and in glory; and that thou may be a holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he has spoken.

Psalm 117-118

¶ O praise the LORD, all ye Gentiles; praise him, all ye peoples.

For he has greatly increased his mercy upon us; and the truth of the LORD endures for ever. Halelu-JAH.

¶ O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good because his mercy endures for ever.

Let Israel now say that his mercy endures for ever.

Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endures for ever.

Let those that fear the LORD say now, that his mercy is eternal.

From a tight place I called upon JAH; and JAH answered me and set me in a wide place.

The LORD is for me; I will not fear what man can do unto me.

The LORD takes my part with those that help me; therefore I shall see my desire upon those that hate me.

It is better to wait upon the LORD than to wait upon man.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

10 All the nations compassed me about; but in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

11 They compassed me about; yea, they laid hold of me; but in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

12 They compassed me about like bees; they were quenched as the fire of thorns; for in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

13 Thou hast thrust at me with violence that I might fall, but the LORD helped me.

14 JAH is my strength and song and is become my saving health.

15 The voice of singing and saving health is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD does valiantly.

16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted; the right hand of the LORD does valiantly.

17 I shall not die, but live and declare the works of JAH.

18 JAH has chastened me sore, but he has not given me over unto death.

19 ¶ Open unto me the gates of righteousness; I will go in through them; I will praise JAH.

20 This gate is of the LORD; the righteous shall enter in.

21 I will praise thee; for thou hast heard me and art become my saving health.

22 The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.

23 This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24 This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, cause us now to prosper.

26 Blessed be he that comes in the name of the LORD; from the house of the LORD we bless you.

27 God is the LORD, who has shined on us; bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee; thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good, for his mercy endures for ever.

Isaiah 53

53 ¶ Who shall believe our report? and upon whom shall the arm of the LORD be manifested?

With all this he shall grow up before him as a tender sprout and as a root out of a dry ground. There is no outward appearance in him, nor beauty. We shall see him, yet nothing attractive about him that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected among men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with weakness; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

¶ Surely he has borne our sicknesses and suffered our pain: and we considered him stricken, smitten of God, and cast down.

But he was wounded for our rebellions; he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes healing was provided for us.

All we like sheep have become lost; we have turned each one to his own way; and the LORD transposed in him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he did not open his mouth.

He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall count his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living; for the rebellion of my people he was smitten.

And he made his grave with the wicked, and his death with the rich; even though he had never done evil, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10 ¶ With all this the LORD chose to bruise him; subjecting him to grief. When he shall have offered his soul for atonement, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the will of the LORD shall be prospered in his hand.

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. And by his knowledge shall my righteous slave justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil unto the strong because he has poured out his soul unto death, and he was numbered with the rebellious, having borne the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Matthew 1

¶ The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham.

Abraham begat Isaac; Isaac begat Jacob; Jacob begat Judas and his brothers;

Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; Phares begat Esrom; Esrom begat Aram;

Aram begat Aminadab; Aminadab begat Naasson; Naasson begat Salmon;

Salmon begat Booz {Greek word for “Boaz”} of Rachab; Booz begat Obed of Ruth; Obed begat Jesse;

Jesse begat David the king; David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

Solomon begat Roboam; Roboam begat Abia; Abia begat Asa;

Asa begat Josaphat; Josaphat begat Joram; Joram begat Ozias;

Ozias begat Joatham; Joatham begat Achaz; Achaz begat Ezekias;

10 Ezekias begat Manasses; Manasses begat Amon; Amon begat Josias;

11 Josias begat Jechonias and his brothers, about the time they were carried away to Babylon;

12 after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

13 Zorobabel begat Abiud; Abiud begat Eliakim; Eliakim begat Azor;

14 Azor begat Sadoc; Sadoc begat Achim; Achim begat Eliud;

15 Eliud begat Eleazar; Eleazar begat Matthan; Matthan begat Jacob;

16 Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; from the carrying away into Babylon unto the Christ are fourteen generations.

18 ¶ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: That being, his mother Mary espoused to Joseph (before they came together) she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being just and not willing to expose her publicly, desired to leave her secretly.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in dreams, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall conceive and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God With Us.

24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him and took unto him his wife

25 and knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn son, and he called his name Jesus.
