M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
17 All sacrifices must be brought to the door of the Tabernacle. 7 To devils they may not offer. 10 They may not eat blood.
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say unto them, This is the thing which the Lord hath [a]commanded, saying,
3 Whosoever he be of the house of Israel that [b]killeth a bullock, or lamb, or goat in the host, or that killeth it out of the host,
4 And bringeth it not unto the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation to offer an offering unto the Lord before the Tabernacle of the Lord, [c]blood shall be imputed unto that man: he hath shed blood, wherefore that man shall be cut off from among his people.
5 Therefore the children of Israel shall bring their offerings, which they would offer [d]abroad in the field, and present them unto the Lord at the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation by the Priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the Lord.
6 Then the Priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the Altar of the Lord before the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and burn the fat for a (A)sweet savor unto the Lord.
7 And they shall no more offer their offerings unto [e]devils, after whom they have gone a [f]whoring: this shall be an ordinance forever unto them in their generations.
8 ¶ Also thou shalt say unto them, Whosoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among them, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,
9 And bringeth it not unto the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation to offer it unto the Lord, even that man shall be cut off from his people.
10 ¶ Likewise whosoever he be of the house of Israel: or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any blood, I will even set [g]my face against that person that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it unto you to offer upon the altar, to make an atonement for your souls: for this blood shall make an atonement for the soul.
12 Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, None of you shall eat blood: neither the stranger that sojourneth among you, shall eat blood.
13 Moreover whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, which by hunting taketh any beast or fowl that may be [h]eaten, he shall pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust:
14 For the life of all flesh is his blood, it is joined with his life: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, (B)Ye shall eat the blood of no [i]flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it, shall be cut off.
15 And every person that eateth it which dieth alone, or that which is torn with beasts, whether it be one of the same country or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and wash himself in water, and be unclean unto the even: after he shall be [j]clean.
16 But if he wash them not, nor wash his [k]flesh, then he shall bear [l]his iniquity.
20 A prayer of the people unto God, that it would please him to hear their king and receive his sacrifice, which he offered before he went to battle against the Ammonites.
To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David.
1 The [a]Lord hear thee in the day of trouble: the [b]Name of the God of Jacob defend thee:
2 Send thee help from the Sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
3 Let him remember all thine offerings, and [c]turn thy burnt offerings into ashes. Selah.
4 And grant thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:
5 That we may rejoice in thy [d]salvation, and set up the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall perform all thy petitions.
6 Now [e]know I that the Lord will help his anointed, and will hear him from his [f]Sanctuary, by the mighty help of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God.
8 [g]They are brought down and fallen, but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save Lord: [h]Let the King hear us in the day that we call.
21 1 David in the person of the people praiseth God for the victory, attributing it to God, and not to the strength of man. Wherein the holy Ghost directeth the faithful to Christ, who is the perfection of this kingdom.
To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David.
1 The King shall [i]rejoice in thy strength, O Lord: yea how greatly shall he rejoice in thy salvation?
2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not denied him the request of his lips. Selah.
3 For thou [j]didst prevent him with liberal blessings, and didst set a crown of pure gold upon his head.
4 [k]He asked life of thee, and thou gavest him a long life forever and ever.
5 His glory is great in thy salvation: dignity and honor hast thou laid upon him.
6 For thou hast set him as [l]blessings forever: thou hast made him glad with the joy of thy countenance.
7 Because the king trusteth in the Lord, and in the mercy of the most high, he shall not slide.
8 [m]Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies, and thy right hand shall find out them that hate thee.
9 Thou shalt make them like a fiery oven in time of thine anger: the Lord shall destroy them in his [n]wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from the children of men.
11 For they [o]intended evil against thee, and imagined mischief, but they shall not prevail.
12 Therefore shalt thou put them [p]apart, and the strings of thy bow shalt thou make ready against their faces.
13 [q]Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
31 2 He exhorteth to chastity and justice, 10 and showeth the conditions of a wise and worthy woman.
1 THE WORDS OF KING [a]LEMUEL: The [b]prophecy which his mother taught him.
2 What my son! and what the son of [c]my womb! and what, O son of my desires!
3 Give not thy strength unto women, [d]nor thy ways which is to destroy kings.
4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes [e]strong drink,
5 Lest he drink and forget the decree, and change the judgment of all the children of affliction.
6 Give ye strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto them that have grief of heart.
7 Let him drink, that he may forget [f]his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8 Open thy mouth for the [g]dumb in the cause of all the children of destruction.
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and judge the afflicted, and the poor.
10 ¶ Who shall find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above the pearls.
11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall have no need of [h]spoil.
12 She will do him good, and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool and flax, and laboreth cheerfully with her hands.
14 She is like the ships of merchants: she bringeth her food from afar.
15 And she ariseth, while it is yet night: and giveth [i]the portion to her household, and the [j]ordinary to her maids.
16 She considereth a field, and [k]getteth it: and with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She feeleth that her merchandise is good: her candle is not put out by night.
19 She putteth her hands to the wheel, and her hands handle the spindle.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor, and putteth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She feareth not the snow for her family: for all her family is clothed with [l]scarlet.
22 She maketh herself carpets: fine linen and purple is her garment.
23 Her husband is known in the [m]gates, when he sitteth with the Elders of the land.
24 She maketh [n]sheets, and selleth them, and giveth girdles unto the merchant.
25 [o]Strength and honor is her clothing, and in the latter day she shall rejoice.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom, and the [p]law of grace is in her tongue.
27 She overseeth the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up, and [q]call her blessed: her husband also shall praise her, saying,
29 Many daughters have done virtuously: but thou surmountest them all.
30 Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vanity: but a woman that feareth the Lord she shall be praised.
31 Give [r]her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the [s]gates.
2 He exhorteth them to make public prayers for all men, 4, 5 and that for two causes, 8 and therefore he willeth all men in all places to pray, 9 and declareth in what apparel, 11 and with what modesty, women ought to behave themselves in holy assemblies.
1 I [a]Exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,
2 For Kings, and for all that are in authority, [b]that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godliness, and [c]honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.
4 [d]Who will that all men shall be saved, and come unto the acknowledging of the truth.
5 [e]For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and man, which is the [f]man Christ Jesus,
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all men, [g]to be that testimony in due time,
7 (A)Whereunto I am ordained a preacher and an Apostle (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not) even a teacher of the Gentiles in [h]faith and verity.
8 [i]I will therefore that the men pray, everywhere [j]lifting up pure hands without [k]wrath, or [l]doubting.
9 (B)[m]Likewise also the women, that they array themselves in comely apparel, with shamefastness and modesty, not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly apparel,
10 But (as becometh women that profess the fear of God) with good works.
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 (C)I permit not a woman to teach, [n]neither to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 [o]For (D)Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 (E)[p]And Adam was not [q]deceived, but the woman was deceived, and was in the transgression.
15 [r]Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shall be saved, if they continue in faith, and love, and holiness with modesty.
