New English Translation (NET)
Version
Isaiah 58:9-14

Then you will call out, and the Lord will respond;
you will cry out, and he will reply, ‘Here I am.’
You must[a] remove the burdensome yoke from among you
and stop pointing fingers and speaking sinfully.
10 You must[b] actively help the hungry
and feed the oppressed.[c]
Then your light will dispel the darkness,[d]
and your darkness will be transformed into noonday.[e]
11 The Lord will continually lead you;
he will feed you even in parched regions.[f]
He will give you renewed strength,[g]
and you will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring that continually produces water.
12 Your perpetual ruins will be rebuilt;[h]
you will reestablish the ancient foundations.
You will be called, ‘The one who repairs broken walls,
the one who makes the streets inhabitable again.’[i]
13 You must[j] observe the Sabbath[k]
rather than doing anything you please on my holy day.[l]
You must look forward to the Sabbath[m]
and treat the Lord’s holy day with respect.[n]
You must treat it with respect by refraining from your normal activities,
and by refraining from your selfish pursuits and from making business deals.[o]
14 Then you will find joy in your relationship to the Lord,[p]
and I will give you great prosperity,[q]
and cause crops to grow on the land I gave to your ancestor Jacob.”[r]
Know for certain that the Lord has spoken.[s]

Psalm 103:1-8

Psalm 103[a]

By David.

103 Praise the Lord, O my soul.
With all that is within me, praise[b] his holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul.
Do not forget all his kind deeds.[c]
He is the one who forgives all your sins,
who heals all your diseases,[d]
who delivers[e] your life from the Pit,[f]
who crowns you with his loyal love and compassion,
who satisfies your life with good things,[g]
so your youth is renewed like an eagle’s.[h]
The Lord does what is fair,
and executes justice for all the oppressed.[i]
The Lord revealed his faithful acts[j] to Moses,
his deeds to the Israelites.
The Lord is compassionate and merciful;
he is patient[k] and demonstrates great loyal love.[l]

Hebrews 12:18-29

18 For you have not come to something that can be touched,[a] to a burning fire and darkness and gloom and a whirlwind 19 and the blast of a trumpet and a voice uttering words[b] such that those who heard begged to hear no more.[c] 20 For they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.”[d] 21 In fact, the scene[e] was so terrifying that Moses said, “I shudder with fear.”[f] 22 But you have come to Mount Zion, the city[g] of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the assembly 23 and congregation of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous, who have been made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator[h] of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does.[i]

25 Take care not to refuse the one who is speaking! For if they did not escape when they refused the one who warned them on earth, how much less shall we, if we reject the one who warns from heaven? 26 Then his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “I will once more shake not only the earth but heaven too.”[j] 27 Now this phrase “once more” indicates the removal of what is shaken, that is, of created things, so that what is unshaken may remain. 28 So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe. 29 For our God is indeed a devouring fire.[k]

Luke 13:10-17

Healing on the Sabbath

10 Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues[a] on the Sabbath, 11 and a woman was there[b] who had been disabled by a spirit[c] for eighteen years. She[d] was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely.[e] 12 When[f] Jesus saw her, he called her to him[g] and said, “Woman,[h] you are freed[i] from your infirmity.”[j] 13 Then[k] he placed his hands on her, and immediately[l] she straightened up and praised God. 14 But the president of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, “There are six days on which work[m] should be done![n] So come[o] and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.” 15 Then the Lord answered him,[p] “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from its stall,[q] and lead it to water?[r] 16 Then[s] shouldn’t[t] this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan[u] bound for eighteen long[v] years, be released from this imprisonment[w] on the Sabbath day?” 17 When[x] he said this all his adversaries were humiliated,[y] but[z] the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things[aa] he was doing.[ab]
