Judgment and Salvation

65 “I permitted Myself to be sought by (A)those who did not ask for Me;
I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me.
I said, ‘Here am I, here am I,’
To a nation which (B)did not call on My name.
(C)I have spread out My hands all day long to a (D)rebellious people,
Who walk in the way which is not good, [a]following their own (E)thoughts,
A people who continually (F)provoke Me to My face,
Offering sacrifices in (G)gardens and (H)burning incense on bricks,
Who sit among graves and spend the night in secret places,
Who (I)eat swine’s flesh,
And the broth of offensive meat is in their pots,
Who say, ‘(J)Keep to yourself, do not come near me,
For I am holier than you!’
These are smoke in My [b]nostrils,
A fire that burns all the day.
Behold, it is written before Me:
I will (K)not keep silent, but (L)I will repay;
I will even repay into their bosom,
Both [c]their own (M)iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together,” says Yahweh.
“Because they have (N)burned incense on the mountains
And (O)reproached Me on the hills,
Therefore I will (P)measure their former work into their bosom.”

Thus says Yahweh,

“As the new wine is found in the cluster,
And one says, ‘Do not make it a ruin, for there is [d]benefit in it,’
So I will act on behalf of My slaves
In order (Q)not to make [e]all of them a ruin.
I will bring forth a (R)seed from Jacob,
And a (S)possessor of My mountains from Judah;
Even (T)My chosen ones shall possess it,
And (U)My slaves will dwell there.
10 (V)Sharon will be a pasture land for flocks,
And the (W)valley of Achor a resting place for herds,
For My people who (X)seek Me.
11 But you who (Y)forsake Yahweh,
Who forget My (Z)holy mountain,
Who set a table for [f]Fortune,
And who fill cups with mixed wine for [g]Destiny,
12 I will destine you for the (AA)sword,
And all of you will bow down to the (AB)slaughter,
Because I called, but you (AC)did not answer;
I spoke, but you did not hear.
And you did what was evil in My eyes
And chose that in which I was not pleased.”

13 Therefore, thus says Lord Yahweh,

“Behold, My slaves will (AD)eat, but you will be (AE)hungry.
Behold, My slaves will (AF)drink, but you will be (AG)thirsty.
Behold, My slaves will (AH)be glad, but you will be (AI)put to shame.
14 Behold, My slaves will (AJ)shout joyfully with a merry heart,
But you will (AK)cry out with a pained heart,
And you will wail with a broken spirit.
15 You will leave your name for a [h](AL)curse to My chosen ones,
And Lord Yahweh will put you to death.
But [i]My slaves will be called by (AM)another name,
16 Because he who [j]is blessed in the earth
Will [k]be blessed by the (AN)God of truth,
And he who swears in the earth
Will (AO)swear by the God of truth;
Because the former distresses are forgotten,
And because they are hidden from My sight!

New Heavens and a New Earth

17 “For behold, I am creating a (AP)new heavens and a new earth;
And the (AQ)former things will not be remembered or come upon the heart.
18 But be (AR)joyful and rejoice forever in what I create;
For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing
And her people for joy.
19 I will also (AS)rejoice in Jerusalem and be joyful in My people;
And there will no longer be heard in her
The voice of (AT)weeping and the voice of crying.
20 No longer will there be [l]in it an infant who lives but a few days,
Or an old man who does (AU)not fulfill his days;
For the youth will die at the age of one hundred,
And the [m](AV)one who does not reach the age of one hundred
Will be thought accursed.
21 They will (AW)build houses and inhabit them;
They will also (AX)plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They will not build and (AY)another inhabit;
They will not plant and another eat;
For (AZ)as the [n]lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people,
And My chosen ones will (BA)wear out the work of their hands.
23 They will (BB)not labor in vain,
Or bear children for terror;
For they are the (BC)seed of those blessed by Yahweh,
And their offspring with them.

24 And it will be that before they call, I will (BD)answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear. 25 The (BE)wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the (BF)lion will eat straw like the ox; and (BG)dust will be the serpent’s food. They will (BH)do no evil nor act corruptly in all My (BI)holy mountain,” says Yahweh.

Heaven Is Yahweh’s Throne

66 Thus says Yahweh,

(BJ)Heaven is My throne, and the earth is the footstool of My feet.
Where then is a (BK)house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that [o]I may rest?
For (BL)My hand made all these things,
Thus all these things came into being,” declares Yahweh.
“But to this one I will look,
To him who is humble and (BM)contrite of spirit, and who (BN)trembles at My word.

But he who slaughters an ox is the one who strikes down a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb is the one who breaks a dog’s neck;
He who offers a grain offering is the one who offers (BO)swine’s blood;
He who (BP)offers a memorial offering of frankincense is the one who blesses wickedness.
As they have chosen their (BQ)own ways,
And their soul takes pleasure in their (BR)detestable things,
So I will (BS)choose their [p]punishments
And will (BT)bring on them what they dread,
Because I called, but (BU)no one answered;
I spoke, but they did not listen.
And they did what was (BV)evil in My eyes
And chose that in which I did not take pleasure.”
Hear the word of Yahweh, you who (BW)tremble at His word:
“Your brothers who (BX)hate you, who (BY)exclude you for My name’s sake,
Have said, ‘Let Yahweh be glorified, that we may see your gladness.’
But (BZ)they will be put to shame.
A voice of rumbling from the city, a voice from the temple,
The voice of Yahweh who is (CA)paying recompense to His enemies.

“Before she was in labor pains, (CB)she gave birth;
Before her pangs came, (CC)she delivered a male child.
(CD)Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?
Can a land be [q]brought forth through labor pains in one day?
Can a nation be born all at once?
As soon as Zion was in labor pains, she also gave birth to her sons.
Shall I bring to the point of breaking forth and (CE)not cause birth?” says Yahweh.
“Or shall I who causes birth shut the womb?” says your God.

Joy in Jerusalem’s Future

10 “Be (CF)glad with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who (CG)love her;
Be exceedingly (CH)joyful with her, all you who mourn over her,
11 That you may nurse and (CI)be satisfied with her comforting breasts,
That you may suck and be delighted with her (CJ)bountiful bosom.”
12 For thus says Yahweh, “Behold, I stretch out (CK)peace to her like a river,
And the (CL)glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
And you will [r]be nursed; you will be (CM)carried on the [s]hip and played with on the knees.
13 As one whom his mother comforts, so I will (CN)comfort you;
And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.”
14 Then you will (CO)see this, and your (CP)heart will be joyful,
And your (CQ)bones will flourish like the new grass;
And the (CR)hand of Yahweh will be made known to His slaves,
But He will be (CS)indignant toward His enemies.
15 For behold, Yahweh will come in (CT)fire
And His (CU)chariots like the whirlwind,
To return His anger with wrath,
And His rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For Yahweh will execute judgment by (CV)fire
And by His (CW)sword on all flesh,
And those slain by Yahweh will be many.
17 “Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the (CX)gardens,
[t]Following one in the center,
Who eat (CY)swine’s flesh, detestable things, and mice,
Will (CZ)come to an end altogether,” declares Yahweh.

18 “And I [u]know their works and their (DA)thoughts; [v]the time is coming to (DB)gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory. 19 I will set a (DC)sign among them and will send those who have escaped from them to the nations: (DD)Tarshish, [w]Put, (DE)Lud, [x]Meshech, (DF)Tubal, and [y]Javan, to the distant (DG)coastlands that have neither heard My report nor seen My glory. And they will (DH)declare My glory among the nations. 20 Then they shall (DI)bring all your brothers from all the nations as a grain offering to Yahweh, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to My (DJ)holy mountain Jerusalem,” says Yahweh, “just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a (DK)clean vessel to the house of Yahweh. 21 I will also take some of them for (DL)priests and for Levites,” says Yahweh.

22 “For just as the (DM)new heavens and the new earth
Which I make will endure before Me,” declares Yahweh,
“So your (DN)seed and your (DO)name will endure.
23 And it shall be from (DP)new moon to new moon
And from sabbath to sabbath,
All [z]mankind will come to (DQ)worship before Me,” says Yahweh.
24 “Then they will go forth and look
On the (DR)corpses of the men
Who have [aa](DS)transgressed against Me.
For their (DT)worm will not die
(DU)And their fire will not be quenched;
And they will be an object of (DV)contempt to all [ab]mankind.”

1 Timothy 2

Exhortation to Prayer

First of all, then, I exhort that (A)petitions and prayers, requests and thanksgivings, be made for all men, (B)for kings and all who are in [a]authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and [b]dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of (C)God our Savior, (D)who desires all men to be (E)saved and to (F)come to the [c]full knowledge of the truth. For there is (G)one God, and (H)one mediator also between God and men, the (I)man Christ Jesus, who (J)gave Himself as a ransom for all, the (K)witness for [d](L)this proper time. (M)For this I was appointed a [e]preacher and (N)an apostle ((O)I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of (P)the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Therefore (Q)I want the men (R)in every place to pray, (S)lifting up (T)holy hands, without wrath and dissension.

Instructions for Women

Likewise, I want (U)women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, with modesty and self-restraint, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10 but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women professing godliness. 11 (V)A woman must learn in quietness, in all submission. 12 (W)But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. 13 (X)For it was Adam who was first formed, and then Eve. 14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but (Y)the woman being deceived, [f]fell into trespass. 15 But she will be [g]saved through the bearing of children, if they continue in (Z)faith and love and sanctification with self-restraint.
