15 2 The offering which the Israelites should offer when they came into the land of Canaan.  32 The punishment of him that brake the Sabbath.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, (A)When ye be come into the [a]land of your habitations which I give unto you,

And will make an offering by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering or a sacrifice (B)[b]to fulfill a vow, or a free offering, or in your feasts to make a (C)sweet savor unto the Lord, of the herd or of the flock,

Then (D)let him that offereth his offering unto the Lord, bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of fine flour, mingled with the fourth part of an [c]Hin of oil.

Also thou shalt prepare the fourth part of an Hin of wine to be poured on a lamb appointed for the burnt offering, or any offering.

And for a ram thou shalt for a meat offering, prepare two tenth deals of fine flour, mingled with the third part of an Hin of oil.

And for a [d]drink offering thou shalt offer the third part of an Hin of wine, for a sweet savor unto the Lord.

And when thou preparest a bullock for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice to fulfill a vow or a peace offering to the Lord,

Then let him offer with the bullock a meat offering of [e]three tenth deals of fine flour, mingled with half an Hin of oil.

10 And thou shalt bring for a drink offering half an Hin of wine, for an offering made by fire of a sweet savor unto the Lord.

11 Thus shall it be done for a bullock, or for a ram, or for a lamb, or for a kid.

12 According to the number [f]that ye prepare to offer, so shall ye do to everyone according to their number.

13 All that are born of the country, shall do these things thus, to offer an offering made by fire of sweet savor unto the Lord.

14 And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will make an offering by fire of a sweet savor unto the Lord, as ye do, so he shall do.

15 (E)One ordinance shall be both for you of the Congregation, and also for the stranger that dwelleth with you, even an ordinance forever in your generations: as you are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord.

16 One law and one manner shall serve both for you and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

17 ¶ And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

18 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land, to the which I bring you,

19 And when ye shall eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer an heave offering unto the Lord.

20 Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your [g]dough for an heave offering: (F)as the heave offering of the barn, so ye shall lift it up.

21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the Lord an heave offering in your generations.

22 And if ye [h]have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the Lord hath spoken unto Moses,

23 Even all that the Lord hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the first day that the Lord commanded Moses, and hence forward among your generations:

24 And if so be that ought be committed ignorantly of the [i]Congregation, then all the Congregation shall give a bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savor unto the Lord, with the meat offering and drink offering thereto, according to the (G)manner, and an he goat for a sin offering.

25 And the Priest shall make an atonement for all the Congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them: for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering for an offering made by fire unto the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord for their ignorance.

26 Then shall be forgiven all the Congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that dwelleth among them: for all the people were in ignorance.

27 (H)But if any one person sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of a year old for a sin offering.

28 And the Priest shall make an atonement for the ignorant person, when he sinneth by ignorance before the Lord, to make reconciliation for him: and it shall be forgiven him.

29 He that is born among the children of Israel, and the stranger that dwelleth among them, shall have both one law, who so doth sin by ignorance.

30 ¶ But the person that doeth ought [j]presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same blasphemeth the Lord: therefore that person shall be cut off from among his people,

31 Because he hath despised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment: that person shall be utterly cut off: his [k]iniquity shall be upon him.

32 ¶ And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day.

33 And they that found him gathering sticks, brought him unto Moses and to Aaron, and unto all the Congregation,

34 And they put him (I)ward: for it was not declared what should be done unto him.

35 Then the Lord said unto Moses, This man shall die the death: and let all the multitude stone him with stones without the host.

36 And all the Congregation brought him without the host, and stoned him with stones, and he died, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

37 ¶ And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they (J)make them fringes upon the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and put upon the fringes of the borders a ribbon of blue silk.

39 And ye shall have the fringes that when ye look upon them, ye may remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them: and that ye seek not after your own heart, nor after your own eyes, after the which ye go a [l]whoring;

40 That ye may remember and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the Lord your God.

Psalm 51

51 When David was rebuked by the Prophet Nathan for his great offenses, he did not only acknowledge the same to God, with protestation of his natural corruption and iniquity, but also left a memorial thereof to his posterity. 7 Therefore first he desireth God to forgive his sins, 10 And to renew in him his holy Spirit. 13 With promise that he will not be unmindful of those great graces. 18 Finally, fearing lest God would punish the whole Church for his fault, he requireth that he would rather increase his graces toward the same.

To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David, when the Prophet Nathan [a]came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

Have mercy upon me, O God, [b]according to thy loving-kindness: according to the multitude of thy compassions put away mine iniquities.

Wash me [c]thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from mine sin.

For I [d]know mine iniquities, and my sin is ever before me.

Against thee, against thee only have I sinned, and done evil in thy sight, that thou mayest be just when thou [e]speakest, and pure when thou judgest.

Behold, I was born in iniquity, and in sin hath my mother conceived me.

Behold, thou [f]lovest truth in the inward affections: therefore hast thou taught me wisdom in the secret of mine heart.

Purge me with (A)hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Make me to hear [g]joy and gladness, that the [h]bones, which thou hast broken, may rejoice.

Hide thy face from my sins, and put away all mine iniquities.

10 [i]Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thine holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of thy salvation, and establish me with thy [j]free Spirit.

13 Then shall I teach thy [k]ways unto the wicked, and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

14 Deliver me from [l]blood, O God, which art the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing joyfully of thy righteousness.

15 [m]Open thou my lips, O Lord, and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

16 For thou desirest no sacrifice, though I would give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a [n]contrite spirit: a contrite and a broken heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

18 Be favorable unto [o]Zion for thy good pleasure: build the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then shalt thou accept the sacrifices of [p]righteousness, even the burnt offering and oblation: then shall they offer calves upon thine altar.

Isaiah 5

1 Under the similitude of the vine, he describeth the state of the people. 8 Of their avarice. 11 Their drunkenness. 13 Of their captivity.

Now will [a]I sing to my [b]beloved a song of my beloved to his vineyard, (A)My beloved had a [c]vineyard in a very fruitful hill.

And he hedged it, and gathered out the stones of it, and he planted it with the best plants, [d]and he built a tower in the midst thereof, and made a winepress therein, then he looked that it should bring forth grapes: but it brought forth [e]wild grapes.

Now therefore, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, [f]between me and my vineyard.

What could I have done anymore to my vineyard that I have not done unto it? why have I looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it bringeth forth wild grapes?

And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I [g]will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up: I will break the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

And I will lay it waste: it shall not be cut, nor dug, but briers and thorns shall grow up: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

¶ Surely the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are his pleasant plant, and he looked for [h]judgment, but behold oppression: for righteousness, but behold [i]a crying.

Woe unto them that join house to house, and lay field to field, till there be no [j]place, that ye may be placed by yourselves in the midst of the earth.

This is in mine [k]ears, saith the Lord of hosts. Surely many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair without inhabitant.

10 For ten acres of vines shall yield one [l]bath, and the seed of an [m]homer shall yield an [n]ephah.

11 ¶ Woe unto them, that [o]rise up early to follow drunkenness, and to them that continue until [p]night, till the wine do inflame them,

12 And the harp and viol, timbrel and pipe, and wine are in their feasts: but they regard not the [q]work of the Lord, neither consider the work of his hands.

13 Therefore my people [r]is gone into captivity, because they had [s]no knowledge, and the glory thereof are men famished, and the multitude thereof is dried up with thirst.

14 Therefore [t]hell hath enlarged itself, and hath opened his mouth without measure, and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, shall descend into it.

15 And man shall be brought down, and man shall be humbled, even the eyes of the proud shall be humbled.

16 And the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and the holy God shall be sanctified in justice.

17 Then shall [u]the lambs feed after their manner, and the strangers shall eat the desolate places of the fat.

18 ¶ Woe unto them that draw iniquity with [v]cords of vanity, and sin, as with cart ropes:

19 Which say, [w]Let him make speed: let him hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it.

20 Woe unto them that speak good of evil, [x]and evil of good, which put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for sour.

21 Woe unto them that are [y]wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight.

22 Woe unto them that are [z]mighty to drink wine, and unto them that are strong to pour in strong drink:

23 Which justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him.

24 Therefore as the flame of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the chaff is consumed of the flame: so their [aa]root shall be a rottenness, and their bud shall rise up like dust, because they have cast off the Law of the Lord of hosts, and contemned the word of the Holy one of Israel.

25 Therefore is the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and he hath stretched out his [ab]hand upon them, and hath smitten them that the mountains did tremble: and their carcasses were torn in the midst of the streets, and for all this his wrath was not turned away, but his hand was stretched out still.

26 And he will lift up a sign [ac]unto the nations afar, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and behold, they shall come hastily with speed.

27 None shall [ad]faint nor fall among them: none shall slumber nor sleep, neither shall the girdle of his loins be loosed, nor [ae]the latchet of his shoes be broken.

28 Whose arrows shall be sharp, and all his bows bent: his horse hoofs shall be thought like flint, and his wheels like whirlwind.

29 His roaring shall be like a lion, and he shall roar like lion’s whelps: they shall [af]roar, and lay hold of the prey: they shall take it away, and none shall deliver it.

30 And in that day they shall roar upon them, as the roaring of the sea: and if [ag]they look unto the earth, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light shall be darkened in their [ah]sky.

Hebrews 12

12 1 He doth not only by the examples of the Fathers before recited, exhort them to patience and constancy, 3 but also by the example of Christ. 11 That the chastenings of God cannot be rightly judged by the outward sense of our flesh.

Wherefore, (A)[a]let us also, seeing that we are compassed with so great a cloud of witnesses, cast away everything that presseth down, and the sin that [b]hangeth so fast on: let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

[c][d]Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the [e]joy that was set before him, endured the cross, and despised the shame, and is set at the right hand of the throne of God.

[f]Consider therefore him that endureth such speaking against of sinners, lest ye should be wearied and faint in your minds.

[g]Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

[h]And ye have forgotten the consolation, which speaketh unto you as unto children, (B)My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither faint when thou art rebuked of him.

For whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth: and he scourgeth every son that he receiveth.

If ye endure chastening, God offered himself unto you as unto sons: for what son is it whom the father chasteneth not?

If therefore ye be without correction, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

[i]Moreover we have had the fathers of our bodies which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: should we not much rather be in subjection unto the father of spirits, that we might live?

10 [j]For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure, but he chastened us for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11 Now no chastising for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: but afterward, it bringeth the quiet fruit of righteousness, unto them which are thereby exercised.

12 [k]Wherefore lift up your hands which [l]hang down, and your weak knees,

13 And make [m]straight steps unto your feet, lest that which is halting, be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed.

14 (C)[n]Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without the which no man shall see the Lord.

15 [o]Take heed, that no man fall away from the grace of God: let no [p]root of bitterness spring up and trouble you, lest thereby many be defiled.

16 [q]Let there be no fornicator, or profane person as (D)Esau, which for one portion of meat sold his birthright.

17 (E)For ye know how that afterward also when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no [r]place to repentance, though he sought that blessing with tears.

18 [s]For ye are not come unto the (F)mount that might be [t]touched, nor unto burning fire, nor to blackness and darkness, and tempest,

19 Neither unto the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words, which they that heard it, excused themselves, (G)that the word should not be spoken to them any more.

20 (For they were not able to abide that which was commanded, (H)yea, though a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

21 And so terrible was the [u]sight which appeared, that Moses said, I fear and quake.)

22 But ye are come unto the mount Sion, and to the city of the living God, the celestial Jerusalem, and to the company of innumerable Angels.

23 And to the assembly and congregation of the first born, which are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just and [v]perfect men,

24 And to Jesus the Mediator of the new Testament, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

25 [w]See that ye despise not him that speaketh: for if they escaped not which refused him, that spake on earth: much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven.

26 [x]Whose voice then shook the earth, and now hath declared, saying, (I)Yet [y]once more will I shake, not the earth only, but also heaven.

27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things which are shaken, as of things which are made with hands, that the things which are not shaken, may remain.

28 [z]Wherefore seeing we receive a kingdom, which cannot be shaken, let us have grace whereby we may so serve God, that we may please him with [aa]reverence and [ab]fear.

29 For (J)even our God is a consuming fire.
