Deuteronomy 25

25 3 The beating of the offenders. 5 To raise up seed to the kinsmen. 11 In what case a woman’s hand must be cut off. 13 Of just weights and measures. 19 To destroy the Amalekites.

When there shall be strife between men, and they shall come unto judgment, [a]and sentence shall be given upon them, and the righteous shall be justified, and the wicked condemned,

Then if so be the wicked be worthy to be beaten, the judge shall cause him to lie down, [b]and to be beaten before his face, according to his trespass unto a certain number.

[c]Forty stripes shall he cause him to have, and not past, lest if he should exceed and beat him above that with many stripes, thy brother should appear despised in thy sight.

(A)Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn.

(B)If brethren dwell together, and one of them die and have no son, the wife of the dead shall not marry without, that is, unto a stranger, but his [d]kinsman shall go in unto her, and take her to wife, and do the kinsman’s office to her.

And the firstborn which she beareth, shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

And if the man will not take his kinswoman, then let his kinswoman go up to the gate unto the Elders, and say, My kinsman refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel: he will not do the office of a kinsman unto me.

Then the Elders of the city shall call him, and commune with him: if he stand and say, I will not take her,

Then shall his kinswoman come unto him in the presence of the Elders, and loose his shoe from his foot, and spit in his face, and answer, and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.

10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him whose shoe is put off.

11 [e]When men strive together, one with another, if the wife of the one come near, for to rid her husband out of the hands of him that smiteth him, and put forth her hand, and take him by his privities,

12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand: thine eye shall not spare her.

13 ¶ Thou shalt not have in thy bag two manner of [f]weights, a great and a small:

14 Neither shalt thou have in thine house divers [g]measures, a great and a small:

15 But thou shalt have a right and just weight: a perfect and a just measure shalt thou have, that thy days may be lengthened in the land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are abomination unto the Lord thy God.

17 (C)Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come out of Egypt:

18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of you, all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast fainted and weary, and he feared not God.

19 Therefore, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, then thou shalt put out the [h]remembrance of Amalek from under heaven: forget not.

Psalm 116

116 1 David being in great danger of Saul in the desert of M[…], perceiving the great and inestimable love of God toward him, magnifieth such great mercies, 13 and protesteth that he will be thankful for the same.

I [a]love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my prayers.

For he hath inclined his ear unto me, when I did call upon him [b]in my days.

When the snares of death compassed me, and the griefs of the grave caught me: When I found trouble and sorrow.

Then I called upon the Name of the Lord, saying, I beseech thee, O Lord, deliver my soul.

The Lord is [c]merciful and righteous, and our God is full of compassion.

The Lord preserveth the simple: I was in misery, and he saved me.

Return unto thy rest, O [d]my soul: for the Lord hath been beneficial unto thee,

Because thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

I shall [e]walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

10 [f]I believed, therefore did I speak: for I was sore troubled.

11 I said in my [g]fear, All men are liars.

12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will [h]take the cup of salvation, and call upon the Name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord, even now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the [i]death of his Saints.

16 Behold, Lord: for I am thy servant, I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast broken my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee a sacrifice of praise, and will call upon the Name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my [j]vows unto the Lord, even now in the presence of all his people,

19 In the courts of the Lord’s house, even in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

Isaiah 52

52 1 A consolation to the people of God. 7 Of the messengers thereof.

Arise, arise: put on thy strength, O Zion: put on the garments of thy beauty, O Jerusalem, the holy City: for henceforth there shall no [a]more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Shake thyself from the [b]dust, arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose the bands of thy neck, O thou captive daughter Zion.

For thus saith the Lord, Ye were sold for [c]naught; therefore shall ye be redeemed without money.

For thus saith the Lord God, My people went [d]down afore time into Egypt to sojourn there, and Assyria [e]oppressed them without cause.

Now therefore what have I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for naught, and they that rule over them, make them to howl, saith the Lord? and my Name all the day continually is [f]blasphemed?

Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day, that I am he that do speak: behold, it is I.

How [g]beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him, that declareth and publisheth peace! that declareth good tidings, and publisheth salvation, saying unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

[h]The voice of thy watchmen shall be heard: they shall lift up their voice, and shout together: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.

O ye desolate places of Jerusalem, be glad and rejoice together, for the Lord hath comforted his people: he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

10 The Lord hath made [i]bare his holy arm in the sight of all the Gentiles, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

11 [j]Depart, depart ye: go ye out from thence, and touch no unclean thing, go out of the midst of her, be ye clean, that [k]bear the vessels of the Lord.

12 For ye shall not go out [l]with haste, nor depart by fleeing away: but the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will gather you together.

13 Behold, my [m]servant shall prosper: he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

14 As many were astonied at thee (his visage was so [n]deformed of men, and his form of the sons of men) so [o]shall he sprinkle many nations: the Kings shall shut their [p]mouths at him: for that which had not been told them, shall they see, and that which they had not heard shall they [q]understand.

Revelation 22

22 1 The river of water of life is showed, 2 and the tree of life: 6, 7 Then followeth the conclusion of this prophecy, 8 where John declareth, that the things herein contained are most true. 13 And now the third time repeateth these words, All things come from him, who is the beginning and the end.

And [a]he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God, and of the Lamb.

In the midst of the street of it, and of either side of the river was the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and gave fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree served to heal the nations with.

And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve him.

And they shall see his face, and his Name shall be in their foreheads.

(A)And there shall be no night there, and they need no candle, neither light of the Sun: for the Lord God giveth them light, and they shall reign for evermore.

[b]And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy Prophets sent his Angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be fulfilled.

Behold, I come shortly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book.

And I am John, which saw and heard these things: and when I had heard and seen, (B)I fell down to worship before the feet of the Angel which showed me these things.

But he said unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the Prophets, and of them which keep the words of this book: worship God.

10 [c]And he said unto me, [d]Seal not the words of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

11 [e]He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

12 [f]And behold, I come shortly, and my reward is with me, (C)to give to every man according as his work shall be.

13 I am (D)Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14 Blessed are they, that do his Commandments, [g]that their right may be in the tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates into the City.

15 For without shall be dogs and enchanters, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth or maketh lies.

16 [h]I Jesus have sent mine Angel, to testify unto you these things in the Churches: I am the root and the generation of David, and the bright morning star.

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come: and let him that is athirst, come: and (E)let whosoever will, take of the water of life freely.

18 [i]For I protest unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.

19 And if any man shall diminish of the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy City, and from those things which are written in this book.

20 [j]He which testifieth these things, saith, Surely I come quickly, Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

21 [k]The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, AMEN.
