2 Chronicles 32

32 After these faithful acts, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came and entered into Judah and besieged the strong cities and thought to win them for himself.

When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that his purpose was to fight against Jerusalem,

he took counsel with his princes and his nobles to stop the water of the fountains outside the city. And they helped him.

So, many of the people assembled themselves and stopped all the fountains and the river that ran through the midst of the country, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find abundant water?”

And he took courage and rebuilt the entire broken wall and erected towers and another outside wall and repaired Millo in the City of David and made many weapons and shields.

And he set captains of war over the people and assembled them to him in the broad place of the gate of the city and spoke encouragement to them, saying,

“Be strong and courageous! Do not fear or be afraid of the king of Assyria, or of all the multitude that is with him! For there are more with us than are with him!

“With him is an arm of flesh! But with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles!” Then the people were sustained by the words of Hezekiah, king of Judah.

After this, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, sent his servants to Jerusalem (while he and all his dominion with him were besieging Lachish) to Hezekiah, king of Judah, and to all Judah who were at Jerusalem, saying,

10 “Thus says Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, ‘In what do you trust, that you would remain in Jerusalem during a siege?

11 ‘Does not Hezekiah entice you to give yourselves over to death by famine and by thirst, saying, “The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?”

12 ‘Has not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, “You shall worship before one Altar and burn incense upon it?”

13 ‘Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the people of other countries? Were the gods of the nations of other lands able to deliver their land out of my hand?

14 ‘Who is He — among all the gods of those nations that my fathers have destroyed that could not deliver their people out of my hand — that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?

15 ‘Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or seduce you in this way or believe him. For none of all the gods of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers. How much less shall your gods deliver you out of my hand?’”

16 And his servants spoke even more against the LORD God and against His servant Hezekiah.

17 He wrote also letters blaspheming the LORD God of Israel and speaking against Him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of other countries could not deliver their people out of my hand, so shall the God of Hezekiah not deliver His people out of my hand.”

18 Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to scare them and to astonish them, so that they might take the city.

19 Thus they spoke against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth, the works of man’s hands.

20 But Hezekiah the king and the Prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, prayed against this and cried to Heaven.

21 And the LORD sent an Angel which destroyed all the valiant men and the princes and captains of the army of the king of Assyria. So, he returned with shame to his own land. And when he had come into the house of his god, those of his own offspring killed him there with the sword.

22 So, the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib, king of Assyria, and from the hand of all others and guided them on every side.

23 And many brought offerings to the LORD to Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah, king of Judah, so that he was magnified in the sight of all nations thereafter.

24 In those days, Hezekiah was sick to the death and prayed to the LORD, Who spoke to him and gave him a sign.

25 But Hezekiah did not repay according to the reward bestowed upon him; for his heart was lifted up. And wrath came upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

26 Nevertheless, Hezekiah humbled himself (after his heart had been lifted up), he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

27 Hezekiah also had abundant riches and honor. And he acquired treasures of silver, and of gold, and of precious stones, and of sweet odors, and of shields, and of all pleasant vessels,

28 and of store houses for the increase of wheat and wine and oil, and stalls for all beasts, and rows for the stables.

29 And he made cities for himself and had possession of sheep and oxen in abundance. For God had given him a large amount of substance.

30 This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper water springs of Gihon and led them straight underneath toward the City of David, westward. So, Hezekiah prospered in all his works.

31 But because of the ambassadors of the princes of Babel, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him to test him, to know all that was in his heart.

32 Concerning the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his goodness, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the Prophet, the son of Amoz, in the book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

33 So, Hezekiah slept with his fathers. And they buried him in the highest sepulcher of the sons of David. And all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem honored him at his death. And Manasseh, his son, reigned in his place.

Revelation 18

18 And after these things, I saw another angel come down from Heaven, having great power, so that the Earth was lightened with his glory,

And he cried out mightily with a loud voice, saying, “It is fallen! It is fallen! Babylon, that great city, has become the habitation of demons, and the prison of all foul spirits, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird!

“For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the kings of the Earth have committed fornication with her. And the merchants of the Earth have grown rich on the abundance of her pleasures!”

And I heard another voice from Heaven say, “Come out of her, my people, so that you are not partakers of her sins, and that you do not receive her plagues.

“For her sins have come up into Heaven. And God has remembered her iniquities.

“Reward her, even as she has rewarded you. And give her double according to her works. And in the cup that she has filled to you, fill her double.

“Inasmuch as she glorified herself, and lived in pleasure, give her the same in torment and sorrow. For she says in her heart, ‘I sit, being a queen, and am no widow. And I shall see no mourning.’

“Therefore, her plagues shall come in one day: death and sorrow and famine. And she shall be burnt with fire. For God, who condemns her, is a strong Lord.

And the kings of the Earth who have committed fornication, and lived in pleasure with her, shall bewail her and lament for her when they shall see the smoke of her burning.

10 And they shall stand at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, “Alas, alas, that great city Babylon; that mighty city! For in one hour has your judgment come!”

11 And the merchants of the Earth shall weep and wail over her. For no one buys their wares anymore.

12 The wares of gold and silver and of precious stone and of pearls and of fine linen and of purple and of silk and of scarlet and of all manner of citron wood and of all vessels of ivory and of all vessels of most precious wood and of brass and of iron and of marble

13 and of cinnamon and odors and ointments and frankincense and wine and oil and fine flour and wheat and beasts and sheep and horses and chariots and servants and souls of man.

14 “And the ripe fruits that your soul lusted after, have departed from you. And all things which were fat and excellent, have departed from you. And you shall find them no more.”

15 The merchants of these things (who had grown rich) shall stand at a distance from her for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing.

16 And saying, “Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold and precious stones and pearls!

17 “In one hour so great riches have come to desolation!” And every shipmaster, and all the people who occupy ships, and shipmen, and whoever traffics on the sea, shall stand at a distance

18 and cry when they see the smoke of her burning, saying, “What city was like this great city!?”

19 And they shall cast dust on their heads and cry, weeping and wailing, and say, “Alas, alas, that great city wherein were made rich all who had ships on the sea by her coastlines! For in one hour she was made desolate!

20 “O Heaven, rejoice over her; and you, holy Apostles and Prophets! For God has punished her and judged against her for your sakes!”

21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone, like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, “With such violence shall that great city Babylon be cast, and shall be found no more!

22 “And the voice of harpers and musicians, and of pipers and trumpeters, shall be heard no more in you. And no craftsman, of whatever craft he is, shall be found anymore in you. And the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more in you.

23 “And the light of a candle shall shine no more in you. And the voice of the bridegroom, and of the bride, shall be heard no more in you. For your merchants were the great men of the Earth. And all nations were deceived with your enchantment.

24 “And in her was found the blood of the Prophets, and of the saints, and of all who were killed upon the Earth!”

Zechariah 14

14 Behold, the Day of the LORD comes! And your spoil shall be divided in the midst of you.

“For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. And the city shall be taken, and the houses spoiled, and the women defiled. And half of the city shall go into captivity. And the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.”

Then the LORD shall go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.

And His feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives on that day (which is before Jerusalem on the eastern side). And the Mount of Olives shall be split in its midst, toward the East and toward the West. And there shall be a very great valley. And half of the mountain shall move away toward the North, and half of the mountain toward the South.

And you shall flee to the valley of the mountains. For the valley of the mountains shall reach Azal. Indeed, you shall flee like you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah. And the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with you.

And at that time, shall there be no clear light, only dark.

And there shall be a day (it is known to the LORD) that is neither day nor night, but at evening time it shall be light.

And on that day, waters of life shall go out from Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the outermost sea. And they shall be both in summer and winter.

And the LORD shall be King over all the Earth. At that time shall there be one LORD, and His Name shall be One.

10 All the land shall be turned as a plain, from Geba to Rimmon toward the South of Jerusalem. And it shall be lifted up and inhabited in its place, from Benjamin’s gate to the place of the first gate to the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananiel to the king’s winepresses.

11 And men shall dwell in it. And there shall be no more destruction. But Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

12 And these shall be the plagues with which the LORD will strike all people who have fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve away, though they stand upon their feet. And their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets. And their tongue shall dissolve in their mouth.

13 But on that day, a great tumult of the LORD shall be among them. And everyone shall take the hand of his neighbor. And his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor.

14 And Judah shall also fight against Jerusalem. And the arm of all the heathen shall be gathered all around, with gold and silver and with great abundance of apparel.

15 Yet, this shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel and of the donkey, and of all the beasts that are in these tents at this plague.

16 But it shall come to pass at that time that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

17 And whoever will not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, from all the families of the Earth, upon them shall come no rain.

18 And if the family of Egypt does not go up, and does not come, it shall not rain upon them. These shall be the plagues with which the LORD will strike all the heathen who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

20 At that time, there shall be written upon the bridles of the horses, “The holiness to the LORD.” And the pots in the LORD’s House shall be like the bowls before the Altar.

21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holy to the LORD of Hosts. And all those who sacrifice shall come and take from them and boil in them. And from that time, there shall no longer be a Canaanite in the House of the LORD of Hosts.

John 17

17 Jesus spoke these things. And having lifted up his eyes to Heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, so that Your Son may also glorify You,

“as You have given Him power over all flesh, so that He should give eternal life to all those whom You have given Him.

“And this is life eternal: that they know You to be the only true God, and Whom You have sent, Jesus Christ.

“I have glorified You on the Earth. I have finished the work which You gave Me to do.

“And now, glorify Me, Father, with Your own Self, with the Glory which I had with You before the world was.

“I have declared Your Name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me. And they have kept Your word.

“Now they know that all things which You have given Me are from You.

“For I have given them the words which You gave Me. And they have received them and have known surely that I came out from You, and have believed that You have sent Me.

“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world, but for those whom You have given Me. For they are yours.

10 “And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine. And I am glorified in them.

11 “And now I am no longer in the world. But these are in the world. And I come to You, Holy Father. Keep them in Your Name, even those whom You have given Me. So that they may be one, as We are.

12 “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your Name. Those whom You gave Me, I have kept. And none of them is lost, except the child of perdition. So that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

13 “And now I come to you. And these things I speak in the world so that they might have My joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 “I have given them Your Word. And the world has hated them. Because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

15 “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You keep them from evil.

16 “They are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

17 “Sanctify them in Your Truth. Your Word is Truth.

18 “As You sent Me into the world, so have I sent them into the world.

19 “And for their sakes, I sanctify Myself. So that they also may be sanctified through the Truth.

20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who shall believe in Me through their Word,

21 “so that they may all be one; as you, O Father, are in Me, and I in you. And that they may also be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me.

22 “And the Glory that You gave Me, I have given them. So that they may be one, as We are one;

23 “I in them and You in Me. So that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

24 “Father, I desire that those whom You have given Me, also be with Me where I am. So that they may behold My Glory which You have given Me. For You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

25 “O righteous Father, the world also has not known You. But I have known You. And these have known that You have sent Me.

26 “And I have declared to them Your Name (and will declare it), so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
