Version
Zechariah 2-3

God’s Favor to Zion

[a]Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man with a (A)measuring line in his hand. So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To (B)measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is.” And behold, the (C)angel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was coming out to meet him, and said to him, “Run, speak to that (D)young man, saying, ‘(E)Jerusalem will be inhabited [b](F)without walls because of the (G)multitude of men and cattle within it. For I,’ declares the Lord, ‘will be a (H)wall of fire [c]around her, and I will be the (I)glory in her midst.’”

[d]Ho there! (J)Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord, “for I have (K)dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord. “Ho, Zion! (L)Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.” For thus says the Lord of hosts, “After [e](M)glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the [f](N)apple of His eye. For behold, I will (O)wave My hand over them so that they will be (P)plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me. 10 (Q)Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will (R)dwell in your midst,” declares the Lord. 11 (S)Many nations will join themselves to the Lord in that day and will become My people. Then I will (T)dwell in your midst, and you will (U)know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you. 12 The Lord will [g](V)possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again (W)choose Jerusalem.

13 [h](X)Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord; for He is (Y)aroused from His holy habitation.”

Joshua, the High Priest

Then he showed me (Z)Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and [i](AA)Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. The Lord said to Satan, “(AB)The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the Lord who has (AC)chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a (AD)brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with (AE)filthy garments and standing before the angel. He spoke and said to those who were standing before him, saying, “(AF)Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have (AG)taken your iniquity away from you and [j]will (AH)clothe you with festal robes.” Then I said, “Let them put a clean (AI)turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the Lord was standing by.

And the angel of the Lord admonished Joshua, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘If you will (AJ)walk in My ways and if you will perform My service, then you will also (AK)govern My house and also have charge of My (AL)courts, and I will grant you [k]free access among these who are standing here.

The Branch

Now listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you—indeed they are men who are a (AM)symbol, for behold, I am going to bring in My servant the [l](AN)Branch. For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are (AO)seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,’ declares the Lord of hosts, ‘and I will (AP)remove the iniquity of that land in one day. 10 ‘In that day,’ declares the Lord of hosts, ‘every one of you will invite his neighbor to sit under his (AQ)vine and under his fig tree.’”

Revelation 13

The Beast from the Sea

13 And the dragon stood on the sand of the [a]seashore.

Then I saw a (A)beast coming up out of the sea, having (B)ten horns and (C)seven heads, and on his horns were (D)ten diadems, and on his heads were (E)blasphemous names. And the beast which I saw was (F)like a leopard, and his feet were like those of (G)a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of (H)a lion. And the (I)dragon gave him his power and his (J)throne and great authority. I saw one of his heads as if it had been [b]slain, and his (K)fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth (L)was amazed and followed after the beast; they worshiped the (M)dragon because he (N)gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “(O)Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?” There was given to him a mouth (P)speaking [c]arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for (Q)forty-two months was given to him. And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, (R)those who [d]dwell in heaven.

It was also given to him to (S)make war with the [e]saints and to overcome them, and authority over (T)every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him. All who (U)dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone (V)whose name has not been [f]written (W)from the foundation of the world in the (X)book of life of (Y)the Lamb who has been slain. (Z)If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 (AA)If anyone [g]is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; (AB)if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is (AC)the [h]perseverance and the faith of the [i]saints.

The Beast from the Earth

11 Then (AD)I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had (AE)two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a (AF)dragon. 12 He (AG)exercises all the authority of the first beast [j](AH)in his presence. And he makes (AI)the earth and those who dwell in it to (AJ)worship the first beast, whose (AK)fatal wound was healed. 13 He (AL)performs great signs, so that he even makes (AM)fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men. 14 And he (AN)deceives (AO)those who dwell on the earth because of (AP)the signs which it was given him to perform [k](AQ)in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who *had the (AR)wound of the sword and has come to life. 15 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even [l]speak and cause (AS)as many as do not (AT)worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 And he causes all, (AU)the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, [m]to be given a (AV)mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the (AW)mark, either (AX)the name of the beast or (AY)the number of his name. 18 (AZ)Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that (BA)of a man; and his number is [n]six hundred and sixty-six.

Psalm 141

An Evening Prayer for Sanctification and Protection.

A Psalm of David.

141 O Lord, I call upon You; (A)hasten to me!
(B)Give ear to my voice when I call to You!
May my prayer be [a]counted as (C)incense before You;
The (D)lifting up of my hands as the (E)evening offering.
Set a (F)guard, O Lord, [b]over my mouth;
Keep watch over the (G)door of my lips.
(H)Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice deeds [c]of wickedness
With men who (I)do iniquity;
And (J)do not let me eat of their delicacies.

Let the (K)righteous smite me [d]in kindness and reprove me;
It is (L)oil upon the head;
Do not let my head refuse it,
[e]For still my prayer (M)is [f]against their wicked deeds.
Their judges are (N)thrown down by the sides of the rock,
And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.
As when one (O)plows and breaks open the earth,
Our (P)bones have been scattered at the (Q)mouth of [g]Sheol.

For my (R)eyes are toward You, O [h]God, the Lord;
In You I (S)take refuge; (T)do not [i]leave me defenseless.
Keep me from the [j](U)jaws of the trap which they have set for me,
And from the (V)snares of those who do iniquity.
10 Let the wicked (W)fall into their own nets,
While I pass by [k](X)safely.

Proverbs 30:18-20

18 There are three things which are too wonderful for me,
Four which I do not understand:
19 The way of an (A)eagle in the sky,
The way of a serpent on a rock,
The way of a ship in the middle of the sea,
And the way of a man with a maid.
20 This is the way of an (B)adulterous woman:
She eats and wipes her mouth,
And says, “I have done no wrong.”
