the field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth; there Abraham was buried with his wife Sarah.

Are we not regarded by him as foreigners? For he has sold us, and has also entirely consumed our purchase price.

Then Joseph said to the people, “Behold, today I have purchased you and your land for Pharaoh; now, here is seed for you, and you may sow the land.

the field and the cave that is in it, purchased from the sons of Heth.”

but as for every slave that someone has purchased with money, after you have circumcised him, then he may eat it.

You are to buy food from them with money so that you may eat, and you shall also purchase water from them with money so that you may drink.

Is this what you do to the Lord, You foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father who has purchased you? He has made you and established you.

And he purchased the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and named the city which he built Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.

Remember Your congregation, which You purchased of old, Which You have redeemed to be the tribe of Your inheritance; And this Mount Zion, where You have dwelt.

‘This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: “Take these deeds, this sealed deed of purchase and this open deed, and put them in an earthenware jar, so that they may last a long time.”

For this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: “Houses and fields and vineyards will again be purchased in this land.”’

Jeremiah Prays and God Explains

“After giving the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the Lord, saying,

And fields will be purchased in this land of which you say, “It is a desolation, without man or animal; it has been handed over to the Chaldeans.”

So I purchased her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and a homer and a lethech of barley.

And yet they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said to him, ‘I purchased a field and I need to go out to look at it; please consider me excused.’

And they were brought back from there to Shechem and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

And they *sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slaughtered, and You purchased people for God with Your blood from every tribe, language, people, and nation.
