  1. (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
  2. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
  3. Faith Triumphs in Trouble

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
  4. through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
  5. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
  6. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  7. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
  8. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
  9. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
  10. Dead to Sin, Alive to God

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
  11. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
  12. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  13. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
  14. From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
  15. But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
  16. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
  17. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  18. Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
  19. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.
  20. I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
  21. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
  22. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
  23. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
  24. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
  25. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
