⁸ When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck^[a][b] and gave glory^(A) to God, who had given such authority to men.

¹² Immediately he got up, took the mat, and went out in front of everyone. As a result, they were all astounded^(A) and gave glory^(B) to God,^(C) saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” ^(D)

²⁶ Then everyone was astounded, and they were giving glory to God. And they were filled with awe^(A) and said, “We have seen incredible things today.”

²⁴ So a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him, “Give glory^(A) to God.^(B) We know that this man is a sinner.”

²¹ After threatening them further, they released them. They found no way to punish them because the people were all giving glory to God over what had been done.^(A)

²³ At once an angel of the Lord^(A) struck him because he did not give the glory to God, and he was eaten by worms and died.^(B)

²⁰ He did not waver in unbelief at God’s promise but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,^(A)
