²⁴ “Have you not observed what this people have spoken, saying, ‘The ^(A)two families which the Lord chose, He has ^(B)rejected them’? Thus they ^(C)despise My people, no longer are they as a nation ^[a]in their sight. ²⁵ Thus says the Lord, ‘If My ^(D)covenant for day and night stand not, and the ^[b]fixed patterns of heaven and earth I have ^(E)not established, ²⁶ then I would ^(F)reject the ^[c]descendants of Jacob and David My servant, ^[d]not taking from his ^[e]descendants ^(G)rulers over the ^[f]descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But I will ^(H)restore their ^[g]fortunes and will have ^(I)mercy on them.’”

² God ^(A)has not rejected His people whom He ^(B)foreknew. ^(C)Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? ³ “Lord, ^(D)they have killed Your prophets, they have torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.” ⁴ But what ^[a]is the divine response to him? “^(E)I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” ⁵ In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time ^(F)a remnant according to God’s ^[b]gracious choice.

²⁶ and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,
