⁵ Hear the word of the Lord,
    you who tremble at his word:^(A)
“Your own people who hate^(B) you,
    and exclude you because of my name, have said,
‘Let the Lord be glorified,
    that we may see your joy!’
    Yet they will be put to shame.^(C)

¹⁰ Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,^(A)
    for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.^(B)

²² Blessed are you when people hate you,
    when they exclude you^(A) and insult you^(B)
    and reject your name as evil,
        because of the Son of Man.^(C)
