its gate has collapsed in ruins.

⁵ For he has humbled those who live in lofty places –
an inaccessible city.^(A)
He brings it down; he brings it down to the ground;
he throws it to the dust.

¹⁰ For the fortified city will be desolate,
pastures deserted and abandoned like a wilderness.
Calves will graze there,
and there they will spread out and strip its branches.

⁴ You will be brought down;
you will speak from the ground,
and your words will come from low in the dust.
Your voice will be like that of a spirit from the ground;^(A)
your speech will whisper from the dust.
