³ Opposite the ^(A)twenty cubits which belonged to the inner courtyard, and opposite the ^(B)stone pavement which belonged to the outer courtyard, was ^[a](C)gallery corresponding to ^[b]gallery in three stories.

⁵ Now the upper chambers were ^[a]smaller because the ^[b](A)galleries took more space away from them than from the lower and middle ones in the building.
