²⁹ But the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not right.’ Are My ways not right, house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not right?

¹⁷ “Yet ^[a]your fellow citizens say, ‘The way of the Lord is not right,’ when it is their own way that is not right.

²⁰ Yet you say, ‘^(A)The way of the Lord is not right.’ I will judge each of you according to his ways, house of Israel.”

¹⁷ You have ^(A)wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say, “How have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “^(B)Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He ^(C)delights in them,” or, “^(D)Where is the God of ^(E)justice?”

¹³ “Your words have been ^[a]arrogant against Me,” says the Lord. “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against You?’ ¹⁴ You have said, ‘It is ^(A)pointless to serve God; and what ^(B)benefit is it for us that we have done what He required, and that we have walked in mourning before the Lord of armies? ¹⁵ So now we ^(C)call the arrogant blessed; not only are the doers of wickedness built up, but they also put God to the test and ^(D)escape punishment.’”
