¹⁴ Will your courage endure^(A) or your hands^(B) be strong in the day I deal with you? I the Lord have spoken,^(C) and I will do it.^(D)

⁷ And when they ask you, ‘Why are you groaning?^(A)’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news that is coming. Every heart will melt with fear^(B) and every hand go limp;^(C) every spirit will become faint^(D) and every leg will be wet with urine.’^(E) It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

²⁴ All the trees of the forest^(A) will know that I the Lord bring down^(B) the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.^(C)

“‘I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.^(D)’”

¹⁴ “‘I the Lord have spoken.^(A) The time has come for me to act.^(B) I will not hold back; I will not have pity,^(C) nor will I relent.^(D) You will be judged according to your conduct and your actions,^(E) declares the Sovereign Lord.^(F)’”

³¹ It is a dreadful thing^(A) to fall into the hands^(B) of the living God.^(C)

²² Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy?^(A) Are we stronger than he?^(B)

³¹ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.^(A)
