⁸ They are to eat the meat that night; they should eat it, roasted over the fire along with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.^(A)

⁶ Then Jesus told them, “Watch out and beware of the leaven^[a] of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”^(A)

¹¹ Why is it you don’t understand that when I told you, ‘Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees,’ it wasn’t about bread?”^{(A) 12} Then they understood that he had not told them to beware of the leaven in bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.^(B)

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little leaven^[a](A) leavens the whole batch of dough?^{(B) 7} Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new unleavened batch, as indeed you are. For Christ our Passover lamb^(C) has been sacrificed.^{[b] 8} Therefore, let us observe the feast, not with old leaven or with the leaven of malice and evil,^(D) but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
