^39 (A)‘Moreover your little ones and your children, who ^(B)you say will be victims, who today ^(C)have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.

¹⁵ Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good. ^16 (A)For before the Child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you dread will be forsaken by ^(B)both her kings.

³ Why has the Lord brought us to this land to ^[a]fall by the sword, that our wives and ^(A)children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?”

¹¹ (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of ^(A)Him who calls),

¹¹ And should I not pity Nineveh, ^(A)that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons ^(B)who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?”

^31 (A)But your little ones, whom you said would be victims, I will bring in, and they shall ^[a]know the land which ^(B)you have despised.

^3 (A)among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in ^(B)the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and ^(C)were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
