⁴³ Now when the meeting of the synagogue had broken up, many of the Jews and of the ^(A)God-fearing ^[a](B)proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were urging them to continue in ^(C)the grace of God.

First Convert in Europe

¹⁴ A woman named Lydia, from the city of ^(A)Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, ^(B)a worshiper of God, was listening; ^[a]and the Lord ^(C)opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul.

^4 (A)And some of them were persuaded and joined ^(B)Paul and Silas, ^[a]along with a large number of the ^(C)God-fearing ^(D)Greeks and ^[b]a number of the ^(E)leading women.

¹⁷ So he was reasoning ^(A)in the synagogue with the Jews and ^(B)the God-fearing Gentiles, and in the market place every day with those who happened to be present.

⁷ Then he left there and went to the house of a man named ^[a]Titius Justus, ^(A)a worshiper of God, whose house was next to the synagogue.
