⁴³ Now when the meeting of the synagogue had broken up, many of the Jews and the ^(A)God-fearing ^[a](B)proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking to them and urging them to continue in ^(C)the grace of God.

First Convert in Europe

¹⁴ A woman named Lydia was listening; she was a seller of purple fabrics from the city of ^(A)Thyatira, and ^(B)a worshiper of God. ^[a]The Lord ^(C)opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul.

^4 (A)And some of them were persuaded and joined ^(B)Paul and Silas, ^[a]along with a large number of the ^(C)God-fearing ^(D)Greeks and ^[b]a significant number of the ^(E)leading women.

¹⁷ So he was reasoning ^(A)in the synagogue with the Jews and ^(B)the God-fearing Gentiles, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be present.

⁷ Then he left ^[a]the synagogue and went to the house of a man named ^[b]Titius Justus, ^(A)a worshiper of God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.
