¹⁷ For this reason I ^(A)have sent to you ^(B)Timothy, who is my ^(C)beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and who will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, ^(D)just as I teach everywhere in every church.

² by which also you are saved, ^(A)if you hold fast ^[a]the word which I proclaimed to you as good news, ^(B)unless you believed for nothing.

⁶ You also became ^(A)imitators of us and of the Lord, ^(B)having received ^(C)the word in much affliction with the ^(D)joy of the Holy Spirit,

⁶ But now that ^(A)Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us good news of ^(B)your faith and love, and that you always ^(C)remember us kindly, longing to see us just as we also long to see you,
