3 Now the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David; he did not seek the Baals, 4 but sought [a]the God of his father, and walked in His commandments and not according to (A)the acts of Israel. 5 Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah (B)gave presents to Jehoshaphat, (C)and he had riches and honor in abundance. 6 And his heart took delight in the ways of the Lord; moreover (D)he removed the [b]high places and wooden images from Judah.

New International Version
3 The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the ways of his father David(A) before him. He did not consult the Baals 4 but sought(B) the God of his father and followed his commands rather than the practices of Israel. 5 The Lord established the kingdom under his control; and all Judah brought gifts(C) to Jehoshaphat, so that he had great wealth and honor.(D) 6 His heart was devoted(E) to the ways of the Lord; furthermore, he removed the high places(F) and the Asherah poles(G) from Judah.(H)
