For if those who are of the law be heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect,
For if they that are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of none effect:
If those who are [followers] of the Law are [the true] heirs [of Abraham], then faith [leading to salvation] is of no effect and void, and the promise [of God] is nullified.
If it is the adherents of the Law who are to be the heirs, then faith is made futile and empty of all meaning and the promise [of God] is made void (is annulled and has no power).
For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
If those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made empty and the promise nullified,
If they inherit because of the Law, then faith has no effect and the promise has been canceled.
For if the heirs are produced by legalism, then trust is pointless and the promise worthless.
If Abraham and his descendants were given this promise because they had obeyed a law, then faith would mean nothing, and the promise would be worthless.
For if they which [are] of law be heirs, faith is made vain, and the promise made of no effect.
For if the ones of the Law are inheritors, faith has been made-empty and the promise has been nullified.
For if they who are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, the promise is made of no effect.
If people could get God’s promise by following the law, then faith is worthless. And God’s promise to Abraham is worthless,
People cannot get what God promised because they obey rules. If they could get it like that, then faith in God would be worth nothing. And what God promised would be worth nothing.
To be sure, if people are heirs by the law, faith is empty and the promise is nullified.
For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
[L For] If people ·could receive what God promised [L are heirs] by following the law, then faith is worthless. And ·God’s promise to Abraham [L the promise] is ·worthless [nullified; canceled],
For if they which are of the Law, be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of none effect.
If those who obey Moses’ Teachings are the heirs, then faith is useless and the promise is worthless.
For if what God promises is to be given to those who obey the Law, then faith means nothing and God's promise is worthless.
If those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made empty and the promise is canceled.
If people could receive what God promised by following the law, then faith is worthless. And God’s promise to Abraham is worthless,
For if those who were given the Law are the heirs, then faith is useless and the promise is worthless,
The ancient promise made to Abraham and his descendants, that they should eventually possess the world, was given not because of any achievements made through obedience to the Law, but because of the righteousness which had its root in faith. For if, after all, they who pin their faith to keeping the Law were to inherit God’s world, it would make nonsense of faith in God himself, and destroy the whole point of the promise.
For if those who are of the law are the heirs, faith is in vain, and the promise annulled,
For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith has been made empty and the promise has been abolished;
For if those of the law are heirs, faith is rendered void and the promise is nullified.
So if you still claim that God’s blessings go to those who are “good enough,” then you are saying that God’s promises to those who have faith are meaningless, and faith is foolish.
That famous promise God gave Abraham—that he and his children would possess the earth—was not given because of something Abraham did or would do. It was based on God’s decision to put everything together for him, which Abraham then entered when he believed. If those who get what God gives them only get it by doing everything they are told to do and filling out all the right forms properly signed, that eliminates personal trust completely and turns the promise into an ironclad contract! That’s not a holy promise; that’s a business deal. A contract drawn up by a hard-nosed lawyer and with plenty of fine print only makes sure that you will never be able to collect. But if there is no contract in the first place, simply a promise—and God’s promise at that—you can’t break it.
For if those who are of the law become heirs, faith would be made void and the promise nullified,
For if the heirs are those who follow the law, then faith is meaningless · and the promise is void.
If those who obey Moses’ Teachings are the heirs, then faith is useless and the promise is worthless.
For if those who adhere to the law are the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
For if those who are of the Law are heirs, then faith is made void and the promise is nullified;
For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified;
If those who live by the Law are the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
If people could receive what God promised by following the law, then faith is worthless. And God’s promise to Abraham is worthless,
For if they become heirs by the law, faith is empty and the promise is nullified.
Do those who depend on the law receive the promise? If they do, faith would mean nothing. God’s promise would be worthless.
For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless,
For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless,
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect,
If those who obey the Law are to get the world, then a person putting his trust in God means nothing. God’s promise to Abraham would be worth nothing.
If God’s promise is only for those who obey the law, then faith is not necessary and the promise is pointless.
For if those who are of the law are the heirs, then faith is but vain, and the promise of no effect.
If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
For if those who belong to the law are going to inherit, then faith is empty, and the promise has been abolished.
For if the salvation-byworks legalists are yoreshim (heirs), emunah (faith) is rendered invalid and the havtachah (the promise) is annulled,
For if those who are of the Law are heirs, then faith is made void, and the promise is made to no effect.
If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
For if those who are of the Torah are heirs, trust has become empty and the promise is made ineffective.
If this inheritance is available only to those who keep the law, then faith is a useless commodity and the promise is canceled.
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of no effect.
If the world will belong to people who obey the law, it is of no use to believe God. And the promise is no good.
For if they that be of the law, be heirs, faith is destroyed, promise is done away.
for if they who are of law [are] heirs, the faith hath been made void, and the promise hath been made useless;
