Matthew 9:5

For which is easier: to say, ‘Thy sins be forgiven thee,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?
For which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and walk?
For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven and the penalty paid,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? [Both are possible for God; both are impossible for man.]
For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?
For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
For which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
Which is easier—to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
Tell me, which is easier to say — ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or ‘Get up and walk’?
Is it easier for me to tell this man his sins are forgiven or to tell him to get up and walk?
For which is easier: to say, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Rise up and walk?
For which is easier: to say ‘Your sins are forgiven’, or to say ‘Arise, and walk’?
Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee: or to say, Arise, and walk?
The Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins. But how can I prove this to you? Maybe you are thinking it was easy for me to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ There’s no proof that it really happened. But what if I say to the man, ‘Stand up and walk’? Then you will be able to see that I really have this power.” So Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “Stand up. Take your mat and go home.”
I said to this man, “I forgive you for the wrong things that you have done.” Instead, I could have said to him, “Stand up and walk.” Which one is easier for me to say?
Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?

At once some of the scribes thought to themselves, “This man is blaspheming”. But Jesus realised what they were thinking, and said to them, “Why must you have such evil thoughts in your minds? Do you think it is easier to say to this man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or ‘Get up and walk’? But to make it quite plain that the Son of Man has full authority on earth to forgive sins”—and here he spoke to the paralytic—“Get up, pick up your bed and go home.” And the man sprang to his feet and went home. When the crowds saw what had happened they were filled with awe and praised God for giving such power to men.

I, the Messiah, have the authority on earth to forgive sins. But talk is cheap—anybody could say that. So I’ll prove it to you by healing this man.” Then, turning to the paralyzed man, he commanded, “Pick up your stretcher and go on home, for you are healed.”
Jesus knew what they were thinking, and said, “Why this gossipy whispering? Which do you think is simpler: to say, ‘I forgive your sins,’ or, ‘Get up and walk’? Well, just so it’s clear that I’m the Son of Man and authorized to do either, or both. . . .” At this he turned to the paraplegic and said, “Get up. Take your bed and go home.” And the man did it. The crowd was awestruck, amazed and pleased that God had authorized Jesus to work among them this way.
