Matthew 14:4

For John said unto him, “It is not lawful for thee to have her.”
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
for John had said to him, “It is not lawful (morally right) for you to have her [living with you as your wife].”
For John had said to him, It is not lawful or right for you to have her.
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
since John had been telling him, “It’s not lawful for you to have her.”
That’s because John told Herod, “It’s against the law for you to marry her.”
since Yochanan had told Herod, “It violates the Torah for you to have her as your wife.”
Herod had earlier arrested John and had him chained and put in prison. He did this because John had told him, “It isn't right for you to take Herodias, the wife of your brother Philip.”
For John said to him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
For John was saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her”.
For John said to him: It is not lawful for thee to have her.
John had told him, “It is not right for you to be married to Herodias.”
John had said to Herod, ‘Herodias was your brother's wife. So it is not right for you to have her as your wife.’
John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
[L For] John had been telling Herod, “It is not lawful for you to ·be married to Herodias [have her].”
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
John had been telling Herod, “It’s not right for you to be married to her.”
For some time John the Baptist had told Herod, “It isn't right for you to be married to Herodias!”
since John had been telling him, “It’s not lawful for you to have her!”
Herod arrested John because he told Herod: “It is not right for you to have Herodias.”
John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
For previously Herod had arrested John and had him bound and put in prison, all on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip. For John had said to him, “It is not right for you to have this woman.” Herod wanted to kill him for this, but he was afraid of the people, since they all thought John was a prophet. But during Herod’s birthday celebrations Herodias’ daughter delighted him by dancing before his guests, so much so that he swore to give her anything she liked to ask. And she, prompted by her mother, said, “I want you to give me, here and now, on a dish, the head of John the Baptist!” Herod was aghast at this, but because he had sworn in front of his guests, he gave orders that she should be given what she had asked. So he sent men and had John beheaded in the prison. Then his head was carried in on a dish and presented to the young girl who handed it to her mother.
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
For John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John had been saying to him, “It is not permitted for you to have her.”
because John had told him it was wrong for him to marry her.
Herod had arrested John, put him in chains, and sent him to prison to placate Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife. John had provoked Herod by naming his relationship with Herodias “adultery.” Herod wanted to kill him, but he was afraid because so many people revered John as a prophet of God.
For John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John had been telling · him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
John had been telling Herod, “It’s not right for you to be married to her.”
for John had said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
For John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
For John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
For John had told him, “It is against the law for you to have her.”
John had been telling Herod, “It is not lawful for you to be married to Herodias.”
because John had repeatedly told him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
John had been saying to Herod, “It is against the Law for you to have her as your wife.”
for John had been saying to him: “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
for John had been saying to him: ‘It is not lawful for you to have her.’
Because John had said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
For John had said to him, “It is against the Law for you to have her.”
John had been telling Herod, “It is against God’s law for you to marry her.”
For John said to him, It is not lawful for you to have her.
because John had been telling him, ‘It is not lawful for you to have her.’
because John had been telling him, ‘It is not lawful for you to have her.’
because John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
John had been telling him that it wasn’t right for him to have her.
For Yochanan kept on saying to him, It is asur for you to have her.
For John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
because John had been telling him, “It is not permitted for you to have her.”
Herod’s brother Philip had married a woman named Herodias, who eventually married Herod. John denounced Herod’s marriage to her as adulterous. Herod was incensed (not to mention a little fearful) and wanted to kill John, but he knew the people considered John a prophet. Instead, he bound John and put him in jail.
For John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
John had said to Herod, `It is not right for you to have her for your wife.'
For John said to him, It is not leaveful to thee to have her.
for John was saying to him, `It is not lawful to thee to have her,'
