Job 17:5
Print
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
He that denounceth his friends for a prey, Even the eyes of his children shall fail.
“He who denounces and informs against his friends for a share of the spoil, The eyes of his children will also languish and fail.
He who denounces his friends [in order to make them] a prey and get a share, the eyes of his children shall fail [to find food].
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
If a man denounces his friends for a price, the eyes of his children will fail.
He denounces his friends for gain, and his children’s eyes fail.
Should people share with their friends when their own children’s eyes are so sad?
They have condemned me, just to benefit themselves; now blind their children.
He that betrayeth friends for a prey—even the eyes of his children shall fail.
He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail.
You know what people say: ‘A man neglects his own children to help his friends.’ But my friends have turned against me.
People may turn against their friends to get things for themselves. If they do that, their children should become blind.
If someone denounces friends for a payoff, his children’s eyes will fail.
He who informs against his friends to get a share of their property— the eyes of his children will fail.
He who informs against his friends to get a share of their property— the eyes of his children will fail.
People might ·speak against [denounce] their friends for ·money [L a share; a piece of property], but if they do, the eyes of their children ·go blind [L will fade].
For the eyes of his children shall fail, that speaketh flattery to his friends.
(Whoever turns in friends to get their property should have his children’s eyesight fail.)
In the old proverb someone betrays his friends for money, and his children suffer for it.
If a man informs on his friends for a price, the eyes of his children will fail.
A man might speak against his friends for money. But if he does, the eyes of his children go blind.
Now as for the one who testifies against his friends to take their property, even the eyes of his children will fail.
He that speaks flattery to his neighbour, even the eyes of his sons shall fail.
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
He who informs against friends for a share of the spoil, The eyes of his children also will come to an end.
He denounces friends for reward, so his children’s eyes will fail.
If they accept bribes to denounce their friends, their children shall go blind.
“O God, pledge your support for me. Give it to me in writing, with your signature. You’re the only one who can do it! These people are so useless! You know firsthand how stupid they can be. You wouldn’t let them have the last word, would you? Those who betray their own friends leave a legacy of abuse to their children.
He who speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children will fail.
(Whoever turns in friends to get their property should have his children’s eyesight fail.)
For a share of property he informs on friends, while the eyes of his children grow dim.
He who informs against friends for a share of the spoils, The eyes of his children also will perish.
“He who informs against friends for a share of the spoil, The eyes of his children also will languish.
“Like a man who invites others to dine with him, while the eyes of his children are failing,
People might speak against their friends for money, but if they do, the eyes of their children go blind.
If a man denounces his friends for personal gain, the eyes of his children will fail.
Suppose someone tells lies about their friends to get a reward. Then their own children will suffer for it.
If anyone denounces their friends for reward, the eyes of their children will fail.
If anyone denounces their friends for reward, the eyes of their children will fail.
He who speaks flattery to his friends, Even the eyes of his children will fail.
If one speaks against friends to get money, the eyes of his children also will become weak.
They betray their friends for their own advantage, so let their children faint with hunger.
Those who denounce friends for reward— the eyes of their children will fail.
Those who denounce friends for reward— the eyes of their children will fail.
Those who denounce friends for reward— the eyes of their children will fail.
Those who denounce friends for reward— the eyes of their children will fail.
He that informs on re’im for chelek, even the eyes of his banim shall fail.
“For the eyes of his children shall fail who speaks flattery to friends.
He who informs against his friends to get a share of their property, the eyes of his children will fail.
He who informs against his friends to get a share of their property, the eyes of his children will fail.
If anyone denounces his friends for profit the eyes of his children will fail.
You have heard, “Whoever denounces his friends for land will watch his children go blind.”
He who denounces his friends for plunder, Even the eyes of his children will fail.
He promiseth prey to his fellows, and the eyes of his sons shall fail (yet the eyes of his sons shall fail).
For a portion he sheweth friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.
