Zipporah became pregnant and had a son. Moses named him Gershom because Moses was a stranger in a land that was not his own.
Later, Zipporah gave birth to a son for Moses. Moses gave the boy the name ‘Gershom’. He called him that because he said, ‘I am living as a stranger in a foreign country.’
She gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, for he said, “I have become an alien living in a foreign land.”

Moses agreed to settle down there with the man, who then gave his daughter Zipporah (Bird) to him for his wife. She had a son, and Moses named him Gershom (Sojourner), saying, “I’m a sojourner in a foreign country.” * * *
Then she gave birth to a son, and he called his name Gershom, for he said, “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.”

She conceived and bore a son, whom he named Gershom; for he said, “I am a stranger residing in a foreign land.”

And she childed a son to him, whom he called Gershom, and said, I was a comeling in an alien land (And she bare a son for him, whom he called Gershom, and said, For I am a newcomer in a foreign land). Forsooth she childed another son, whom he called Eliezer, and said, For [the] God of my father is mine helper, and he delivered me from the hand of Pharaoh.
and she beareth a son, and he calleth his name Gershom, for he said, `A sojourner I have been in a strange land.'
