HAR-HERES här hĭr’ ĭz (הַר־חֶ֔רֶס, mountain of the sun). KJV, ASV Mount Heres (Judg 1:34, 35). A mountain near Aijalon from which the tribe of Dan failed to expel the Amorites. It is prob. identical either with Beth-shemesh (1 Kings 4:9; 2 Chron 28:18) or Ir-shemesh (Josh 19:41) on the boundary between Judah and Dan.
