Exodus 35

35 2 The Sabbath. 5 The free gifts are required.  21 The readiness of the people to offer. 30 Bezalel and Aholiab are praised of Moses.

Then Moses assembled all the Congregation of the children of Israel, and said unto them, These are the words which the Lord hath commanded, that ye should do them:

(A)Six days thou shalt work, but the seventh day shall be unto you the holy [a]Sabbath of rest unto the Lord: whosoever doeth any work therein, shall die.

Ye shall kindle no fire throughout all your habitations upon the Sabbath day.

¶ Again, Moses spake unto all the Congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the Lord commandeth, saying,

Take from among you an offering unto the Lord: whosoever is of a (B)willing heart, let him bring this offering to the Lord, namely gold, and silver and brass:

Also blue silk, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair,

And rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins with Shittim wood:

Also oil for light, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense,

And onyx stones, and stones to be set in the Ephod, and in the breastplate.

10 And all the wise [b]hearted among you, shall come and make all that the Lord hath commanded:

11 That is, the (C)Tabernacle, the pavilion thereof, and his covering, and his taches, and his boards, his bars, his pillars, and his sockets,

12 The Ark, and the bars thereof: the Mercy seat, and the veil that [c]covereth it,

13 The Table, and the bars of it, and all the instruments thereof, and the showbread:

14 Also the Candlestick of light and his instruments, and his lamps with the oil for the light:

15 (D)Likewise the Altar of perfume and his bars, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the veil of the door at the entering in of the Tabernacle,

16 The (E)Altar of burnt offering with his brazen grate, his bars and all his instruments, the laver and his foot,

17 The hangings of the court, his pillars and his sockets, and the veil of the gate of the court,

18 The pins of the Tabernacle, and the pins of the court with their cords,

19 The [d]ministering garments to minister in the holy place, and the holy garments of Aaron the Priest, and the garments of his sons, that they may minister in the Priest’s office.

20 ¶ Then all the Congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.

21 And every one, whose heart [e]encouraged him, and every one, whose spirit made him willing, came and brought an offering to the Lord, for the work of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and for all his uses, and for the holy garments.

22 Both men and women, as many as were free hearted, came and brought [f]taches and earrings, and rings, and bracelets, all were jewels of gold: and every one that offered an offering of gold unto the Lord:

23 Every man also, which had blue silk, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen and goats’ hair, and rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins, brought them.

24 All that offered an oblation of silver and of brass, brought the offering unto the Lord: and every one, that [g]had Shittim wood for any manner work of the ministration, brought it.

25 And all the women that were [h]wise-hearted, did spin with their hands, and brought the spun work, even the blue silk, and the purple, the scarlet, and fine linen.

26 Likewise all the women, [i]whose hearts were moved with knowledge, spun goats’ hair.

27 And the rulers brought onyx stones, and stones to be set in the Ephod, and in the breastplate:

28 Also spice, and oil for light, and for the (F)anointing oil, and for the sweet perfume.

29 Every man and woman of the children of Israel, whose hearts moved them willingly to bring for all the work which the Lord had commanded them to make [j]by the hand of Moses, brought a free offering unto the Lord.

30 ¶ Then Moses said unto the children of Israel, Behold, (G)the Lord hath called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur of the tribe of Judah,

31 And hath filled him [k]with an excellent spirit of wisdom, of understanding, and of knowledge, and in all manner work,

32 To find out curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

33 And in graving stones to set them, and in carving of wood, even to make any manner of fine work.

34 And he hath put in his heart that he may teach other: both he, and Aholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan:

35 Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart to work all manner [l]of cunning (H)and broidered, and needle work: in blue silk, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen and weaving, even to do all manner of work and subtle inventions.

John 14

14 He comforteth his disciples, 2, 7 declaring his divinity and the fruit of his death, 16 promising the comforter, 17 even the holy Spirit, 26 whose office he setteth out. 27 He promiseth his peace.

Let [a]not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many dwelling places: if it were not so, [b]I would have told you: I go to [c]prepare a place for you.

[d]And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will [e]come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there may ye be also.

[f]And whither I go, ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas said unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest: how can we then know the way?

Jesus said unto him, I am [g]that Way, and that Truth, and that Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

[h]If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip said unto him, Lord, show us thy Father, and it sufficeth us.

Jesus said unto him, I have been so long time with you, and hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen my Father: how then sayest thou, Show us thy Father?

10 [i]Believest thou not, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me: at the least, believe me for the very works’ sake.

12 [j]Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he shall do also, and [k]greater than these shall he do: for I go unto my Father.

13 (A)And whatsoever ye ask in my Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask anything in my Name, I will do it.

15 [l]If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever,

17 Even the [m]Spirit of truth, whom the [n]world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him: for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you fatherless: but I will come to you.

19 Yet a little while, and the world shall see me no more, but ye shall see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20 At that day shall ye know that I am [o]in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them: is he that loveth me: and he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will [p]show mine own self to him.

22 [q]Judas said unto him, (not Iscariot) Lord, what is the cause that thou wilt show thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered, and said unto him, If any man love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will dwell with him.

24 He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words, and the word which ye hear, is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

25 [r]These things have I spoken unto you, being present with you.

26 (B)But the Comforter, which is the holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my Name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, which I have told you.

27 [s]Peace I leave with you: my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor fear.

28 [t]Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and will come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would verily rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for the Father [u]is greater than I.

29 And now have I spoken unto you, before it come, that when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30 [v]Hereafter will I not speak many things unto you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath [w]nought in me,

31 But it is that the world may know that I love my Father: and as the Father hath commanded me, so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

Proverbs 11

11 False [a]balances are an abomination unto the Lord: but a perfect [b]weight pleaseth him.

When pride cometh, then cometh [c]shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

The uprightness of the just shall guide them: but the frowardness of the transgressors shall destroy them.

(A)Riches avail not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

The righteousness of the upright shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall in his own wickedness.

The righteousness of the just shall deliver them: but the transgressors shall be taken in their own wickedness.

When a wicked man dieth, his hope perisheth, and the hope of the unjust shall perish.

The righteous escapeth out of trouble, and the wicked shall come in his [d]stead.

An [e]hypocrite with his mouth hurteth his neighbor: but the righteous shall be delivered by knowledge.

10 In the prosperity of the righteous the city [f]rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is joy.

11 By the [g]blessing of the righteous the city is exalted: but it is subverted by the mouth of the wicked.

12 He that despiseth his neighbor, is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding will [h]keep silence.

13 He that goeth about as a slanderer, discovereth a secret: but he that is of a faithful heart, concealeth a matter.

14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but where many [i]counselors are, there is health.

15 He shall be sore vexed, that is surety for a [j]stranger, and he that hateth suretiship, is sure.

16 A [k]gracious woman attaineth honor, and the strong men attain riches.

17 He that is merciful, [l]rewardeth his own soul: but he that troubleth his own [m]flesh, is cruel.

18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but he that soweth righteousness, shall receive a sure reward.

19 As righteousness leadeth to life: so he that followeth evil, seeketh his own death.

20 They that are of a froward heart, are abomination to the Lord: but they that are upright in their way, are his delight.

21 [n]Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall escape.

22 As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout: so is a fair woman which [o]lacketh discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the hope of the wicked [p]is indignation.

24 There is that scattereth, [q]and is more increased: but he that spareth more [r]than is right, surely cometh to poverty.

25 The [s]liberal person shall have plenty: and he that watereth, shall also have rain.

26 He that withdraweth the corn, the people will curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that [t]selleth corn.

27 He that seeketh good things getteth favor: but he that seeketh evil, it shall come to him.

28 He that trusteth in his riches, shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a leaf.

29 He that troubleth his own [u]house, shall inherit the wind, and the fool shall be [v]servant to the wise in heart.

30 The fruit of the righteous is as a tree of life, and he that [w]winneth souls is wise.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be [x]recompensed in the earth: how much more the wicked and the sinner?

Ephesians 4

These three last Chapters contain precepts of manners. 1 He exhorteth them to mutual love. 7 Sundry gifts are therefore bestowed of God, 16 that the Church may be built up. 18 He calleth them from the vanity of infidels, 25 from lying, 29 and from filthy talk.

I therefore, [a]being prisoner in the Lord, pray you that ye walk worthy of the [b]vocation whereunto ye are called,

[c]With all humbleness of mind, and meekness, with [d]long suffering, supporting one another through love,

[e]Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

[f]There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your vocation.

There is one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism.

One God and Father of all, which is [g]above all, and [h]through all, and [i]in you all.

[j]But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the [k]gift of Christ.

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended upon high, he led [l]captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

(Now, in that he ascended, what is it but that he had also descended first into the [m]lowest parts of the earth?

10 He that descended, is even the same that ascended, far above all heavens, that he might [n]fill [o]all things.)

11 [p]He therefore gave some to be [q]Apostles, and some [r]Prophets, and some [s]Evangelists, and some [t]Pastors, and Teachers,

12 [u]For the repairing of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the edification of the [v]body of Christ,

13 [w]Till we all meet together (in the [x]unity of faith and that acknowledging of the Son of God) unto a perfect man, and unto the measure of the [y]age the fullness of Christ,

14 [z]That we henceforth be no more children, [aa]wavering and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the [ab]deceit of men, and with craftiness, whereby they lay in [ac]wait to deceive.

15 [ad]But let us follow the truth in love, and in all things, grow up into him, which is the head, that is, Christ.

16 By whom all the body being coupled and knit together by every joint, for the furniture thereof (according to the [ae]effectual power, which is in the measure of every part) receiveth [af]increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in [ag]love.

17 [ah]This I say therefore and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as (A)other Gentiles walk, in [ai]vanity of their mind.

18 Having their understanding darkened, and being strangers from the [aj]life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart:

19 Which being [ak]past feeling, have given themselves unto wantonness, to work all uncleanness, even with [al]greediness.

20 [am]But ye have not so learned Christ,

21 If so be ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, [an]as the truth is in Jesus,

22 (B)That is, that ye cast off, concerning the conversation in time past, [ao]that old man, which is corrupt through the deceivable lusts,

23 And be renewed in the [ap]spirit of your mind,

24 And put on the new man, which [aq]after God is created unto [ar]righteousness, and [as]true holiness.

25 [at]Wherefore cast off lying, and speak every man truth unto his neighbor: for we are members one of another.

26 [au]Be [av]angry, but sin not: let not the sun go down [aw]upon your wrath,

27 Neither give place to the devil.

28 [ax]Let him that stole, steal no more: but let him rather labor, and work with his hands the thing which is [ay]good, that he may have to give unto him that needeth.

29 [az]Let no [ba]corrupt communication proceed out of your mouths: but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister [bb]grace unto the hearers.

30 [bc]And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, by whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and anger, and wrath, crying, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all maliciousness.

32 Be ye courteous one to another, and tender hearted, freely forgiving one another, [bd]even as God for Christ’s sake, freely forgave you.
