Psalm 24

The King of Glory Entering Zion.

A Psalm of David.

24 The (A)earth is the Lords, and [a]all it contains,
The (B)world, and those who live in it.
For He has (C)founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
Who may (D)ascend onto the (E)hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy (F)place?
One who has (G)clean hands and a (H)pure heart,
Who has not (I)lifted up his soul to deceit
And has not (J)sworn deceitfully.
He will receive a (K)blessing from the Lord
And [b](L)righteousness from the God of his salvation.
[c]This is the generation of those who (M)seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah

(N)Lift up your heads, you gates,
And be lifted up, you [d]ancient doors,
That the King of (O)glory may come in!
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord (P)strong and mighty,
The Lord (Q)mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, you gates,
And lift them up, you [e]ancient doors,
That the King of (R)glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of (S)armies,
He is the King of glory. Selah

Psalm 29

The Voice of the Lord in the Storm.

A Psalm of David.

29 (A)Ascribe to the Lord, [a]sons of the mighty,
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory [b]due His name;
Worship the Lord (B)in holy attire.

The (C)voice of the Lord is on the waters;
The God of glory (D)thunders,
The Lord is over [c](E)many waters.
The voice of the Lord is (F)powerful,
The voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
Yes, the Lord breaks (G)the cedars of Lebanon in pieces.
He makes Lebanon (H)skip like a calf,
And (I)Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord divides [d]flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord [e]shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the wilderness of (J)Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes (K)the deer give birth
And strips the forests bare;
And (L)in His temple everything says, “Glory!”

10 The Lord sat as King at the (M)flood;
Yes, the Lord sits as (N)King forever.
11 [f]The Lord will give (O)strength to His people;
[g]The Lord will bless His people with (P)peace.

Psalm 8

The Lords Glory and Mankind’s Dignity.

For the music director; on the Gittith. A Psalm of David.

Lord, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth,
You who have [a](A)displayed Your splendor above the heavens!
(B)From the mouths of infants and nursing babies You have established [b](C)strength
Because of Your enemies,
To do away with (D)the enemy and the revengeful.

When I [c](E)consider (F)Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The (G)moon and the stars, which You have set in place;
(H)What is man that You think of him,
And a son of man that You are concerned about him?
Yet You have made him a (I)little lower than [d]God,
And (J)You crown him with (K)glory and majesty!
You have him (L)rule over the works of Your hands;
You have (M)put everything under his feet,
All sheep and oxen,
And also the animals of the field,
The birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea,
Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

(N)Lord, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

Psalm 84

Longing for the Temple Worship.

For the music director; [a]on the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

84 How lovely are Your (A)dwelling places,
Lord of armies!
My (B)soul longed and even yearned for the courtyards of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the (C)living God.
The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may put her young:
Your (D)altars, Lord of armies,
(E)My King and my God.
(F)Blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are (G)ever praising You. Selah

Blessed is the person whose (H)strength is in You,
In [b]whose heart are the (I)roads to Zion!
Passing through the Valley of [c]Baca they make it a [d]spring;
The (J)early rain also covers it with blessings.
They (K)go from strength to strength,
[e]Every one of them (L)appears before God in Zion.

(M)Lord God of armies, hear my prayer;
Listen, (N)God of Jacob! Selah
See our (O)shield, God,
And look at the face of (P)Your anointed.
10 For (Q)a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than live in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is (R)a sun and (S)shield;
The Lord gives grace and (T)glory;
(U)He withholds no good thing [f]from those who walk with integrity.
12 Lord of armies,
(V)Blessed is the person who trusts in You!

Job 38:1

God Speaks Now to Job

38 Then the Lord (A)answered Job from the whirlwind and said,

Job 38:18-41

18 Have you understood the [a]expanse of (A)the earth?
Tell Me, if you know all this.

19 “Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
And darkness, where is its place,
20 That you would take it to (B)its territory,
And discern the paths to its [b]home?
21 You know, for (C)you were born then,
And the number of your days is great!
22 Have you entered the storehouses (D)of the snow,
And have you seen the storehouses of the (E)hail,
23 Which I have reserved for a time of distress,
For a day of war and battle?
24 Where is the way that (F)the light is divided,
And the east wind scattered on the earth?

25 “Who has split open a channel for the flood,
And a way for the thunderbolt,
26 To bring (G)rain on a land without [c]people,
On a desert without a person in it,
27 To (H)satisfy the waste and desolate land,
And to make the [d]seeds of grass to sprout?
28 Does (I)the rain have a father?
Or who has fathered the drops of dew?
29 From whose womb has come the (J)ice?
And the frost of heaven, who has given it birth?
30 Water [e]becomes hard like stone,
And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.

31 “Can you tie up the chains of the (K)Pleiades,
Or untie the cords of Orion?
32 Can you bring out a [f]constellation in its season,
And guide the Bear with her [g]satellites?
33 Do you know the (L)ordinances of the heavens,
Or do you establish their rule over the earth?

34 “Can you raise your voice to the clouds,
So that an (M)abundance of water will cover you?
35 Can you (N)send flashes of lightning, so that they may go
And say to you, ‘Here we are’?
36 Who has (O)put wisdom in the innermost being,
Or given (P)understanding to the [h]mind?
37 Who can count the clouds by wisdom,
And (Q)pour out the water jars of the heavens,
38 When the dust hardens into a mass
And the clods stick together?

39 “Can you hunt the (R)prey for the lioness,
Or satisfy the appetite of young lions,
40 When they (S)crouch in their hiding places,
And lie in wait in their lair?
41 Who prepares [i]feed for (T)the raven
When its young cry to God,
And wander about without food?

Revelation 18:1-8

Babylon Is Fallen

18 After these things I saw another (A)angel (B)coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was (C)illuminated from his glory. And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “[a](D)Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She (E)has become a dwelling place of demons and a [b]prison of every (F)unclean spirit, and a [c]prison of every unclean and hateful bird. For all the nations have fallen because of the (G)wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and (H)the kings of the earth have committed acts of sexual immorality with her, and the (I)merchants of the earth have become rich from the [d]excessive wealth of her [e](J)luxury.”

I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “(K)Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues; for her sins have [f](L)piled up as high as heaven, and God has (M)remembered her offenses. (N)Pay her back even as she has paid, and [g]give back to her double according to her deeds; in the (O)cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. (P)To the extent that she glorified herself and (Q)lived luxuriously, to the same extent give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, ‘(R)I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.’ For this reason (S)in one day her plagues will come, [h]plague and mourning and famine, and she will be (T)burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her (U)is strong.

Matthew 5:21-26

Personal Relationships

21 (A)You have heard that [a]the ancients were told, ‘(B)You shall not murder,’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be answerable to (C)the court.’ 22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be answerable to (D)the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘[b]You good-for-nothing,’ shall be answerable to [c](E)the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the [d](F)fiery hell. 23 Therefore, if you are (G)presenting your [e]offering at the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your [f]offering there before the altar and go; first be (H)reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your [g]offering. 25 [h](I)Come to good terms with your accuser quickly, while you are with him on the way to court, so that your accuser will not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you will not be thrown into prison. 26 Truly I say to you, (J)you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last [i]quadrans.
