Abram Promised a Son
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.”
-
Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”
-
So Judah said, “What can we say to my lord? What words can we speak? And how can we justify ourselves? God has found out the guilt of your servants; behold, we are my lord’s slaves, both we and the one in whose possession the cup has been found.”
-
So it came about when we went up to your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.
-
Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which He had sent him, and all the signs that He had commanded him to do.
-
and Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had spoken to Moses. He then performed the signs in the sight of the people.
-
The Lord did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, the courtyards, and the fields.
-
Everyone among the servants of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord hurried to bring his servants and his livestock into the houses;
-
but everyone who did not pay regard to the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field.
-
So Moses came and called the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him.
-
Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do!” And Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.
-
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also trust in you forever.” Then Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.
-
Then Moses came and reported to the people all the words of the Lord and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which the Lord has spoken we will do!”
-
And Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. Then he got up early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain with twelve memorial stones for the twelve tribes of Israel.
-
So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
-
So he was there with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
-
You shall not even go out from the doorway of the tent of meeting, or you will die; for the Lord’s anointing oil is upon you.” So they did according to the word of Moses.
-
So Moses counted them according to the word of the Lord, just as he had been commanded.
-
So Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord. He also gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and positioned them around the tent.
-
Since he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.’”
-
And he said to them, “Spend the night here, and I will bring word back to you just as the Lord may speak to me.” And the leaders of Moab stayed with Balaam.
-
But the angel of the Lord said to Balaam, “Go with the men, but you shall speak only the word that I tell you.” So Balaam went along with the representatives of Balak.
-
The Law of Vows
Then Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, “This is the word which the Lord has commanded:
-
If a man makes a vow to the Lord, or takes an oath to put himself under a binding obligation, he shall not break his word; he shall act in accordance with everything that comes out of his mouth.
-
Then Moses commanded the sons of Israel in accordance with the word of the Lord, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Joseph is right in its statements.
