He · will keep you steadfast to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
(I also baptized · the household of Stephanas; beyond that I do not know if I baptized anyone else.)
-
but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.
-
For the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men, and the weakness of God is stronger than the strength of men.
-
Consider · your calling, brothers: according to worldly standards, not many of you were wise, not many were influential, not many were of noble birth.
-
But God chose the foolish things of the world · to shame the wise; · God chose the weak things of the world · to shame the strong;
-
for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving like mere men?
-
If · anyone is building on the foundation with gold, silver, gems, wood, hay, straw—
-
This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries.
-
In this connection then, it is required of · stewards that they be found trustworthy.
-
So then, stop passing judgment on anything before the time, before the Lord comes. He · will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will disclose the motives of the heart. · At that time · praise will come to each from · God.
-
We are fools for Christ, but you are men of wisdom in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!
-
And you are arrogant! · Ought you not rather to have mourned, so that the man who did this deed would be removed from your midst? ·
-
Get rid of the old leaven so that you may be a new batch of dough, just as you really are unleavened. · For Christ, · our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
-
So if you have ordinary cases, do you appoint as judges those who have no standing in the church?
-
· “Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food”—· and God will destroy both the one and the other. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body;
-
If you were a slave when called, do not be concerned about it. However, if · you are able to gain your freedom, make the most of the opportunity.
-
and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no possessions,
-
If · someone believes he is not treating · his virgin in an appropriate manner, if his passions are strong, and so it has to be, he should do what he desires, it is no sin—let them marry.
-
However, the man who stands firm in · his resolve is under no compulsion but has control over · his desire, and has determined this in · his heart to keep her as his virgin, he will do well.
-
But take care that this right of yours does not · become a stumbling block to the weak.
-
Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, · I will never eat meat, lest I cause · my brother to stumble.
-
For in the Law of Moses it is written, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” It is not for oxen that God is concerned, · is it?
-
If others have a share in this right over you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of · this right, but endure all things lest we place some obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.

Do you not know that all who run in the stadium compete but only one receives the prize? So run that you may win.
