  14. For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
  15. We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
  16. But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
  17. So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.
  18. We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.
  19. Life Through the Spirit

    Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
  20. because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
  21. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,
  22. in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
  23. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
  24. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
  25. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
