  1. Then Jesus took the loaves, and after giving thanks he distributed them to those who were seated—so also with the fish, as much as they wanted.

  11. The one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do what pleases him.”
  12. We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is God-fearing and does his will, he listens to him.
  13. Jesus answered, “You have seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”
  14. Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things and asked him, “We aren’t blind too, are we?”
  15. Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair, and it was her brother Lazarus who was sick.
  16. Then Thomas (called “Twin”) said to his fellow disciples, “Let’s go too so that we may die with him.”
  17. The Jews who were with her in the house consoling her saw that Mary got up quickly and went out. They followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to cry there.
  18. When Jesus saw her crying, and the Jews who had come with her crying, he was deeply moved in his spirit and troubled.
  19. After he said this, he shouted with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”
  20. The dead man came out bound hand and foot with linen strips and with his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him go.”
  21. Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among the Jews but departed from there to the countryside near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and he stayed there with the disciples.
  22. So they gave a dinner for him there; Martha was serving them, and Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with him.
  23. Then Mary took a pound of perfume, pure and expensive nard, anointed Jesus’s feet, and wiped his feet with her hair. So the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
  24. For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.”
  25. Meanwhile, the crowd, which had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead, continued to testify.
