    The next day John was there again with two of his disciples.
  16. “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.
  17. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water” ; so they filled them to the brim.
  18. After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
  19. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
  20. His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
  21. The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”
  22. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people.
  23. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
  24. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
  25. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
