When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, “Who is this?”

The Question about the Resurrection
The same day some Sadducees came to him saying there is no resurrection, and they asked him a question:

and one of them, an expert in the law, asked him a question to test him.

The Question about David’s Son
Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them this question:

No one was able to give him an answer, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.

Then he asked them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly I tell you, not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down.”

Pilate Questions Jesus
Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus said, “You say so.”

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus killed.

Then he asked, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Let him be crucified!”

He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus; then Pilate ordered it to be given to him.

They were all amazed, and they kept on asking one another, “What is this? A new teaching—with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”

A crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside asking for you.”

The Purpose of the Parables
When he was alone, those who were around him along with the twelve asked him about the parables.

Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”

When his daughter Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests, and the king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will give it.”

And he swore to her, “Whatever you ask me, I will give you, even half of my kingdom.”

She went out and said to her mother, “What should I ask for?” She replied, “The head of John the baptizer.”

So the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders but eat with defiled hands?”

When he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about the parable.

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”

The Demand for a Sign
The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, asking him for a sign from heaven, to test him.

And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”

He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had put saliva on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Can you see anything?”
