Job continued speaking:

I will never concede that you are right; I will defend my integrity until I die.

I will maintain my innocence without wavering. My conscience is clear for as long as I live.

I will teach you about God’s power. I will not conceal anything concerning the Almighty.

Here the rocks contain precious lapis lazuli, and the dust contains gold.

Job Speaks of His Former Blessings
Job continued speaking:

New honors are constantly bestowed on me, and my strength is continually renewed.’

Instead, I am considered a brother to jackals and a companion to owls.

“Have I tried to hide my sins like other people do, concealing my guilt in my heart?

Have I feared the crowd or the contempt of the masses, so that I kept quiet and stayed indoors?
-
And don’t tell me, ‘He is too wise for us. Only God can convince him.’

Should I continue to wait, now that you are silent? Must I also remain silent?
-
Now that I have begun to speak, let me continue.
-
God is picking a quarrel with me, and he considers me his enemy.
-
Could God govern if he hated justice? Are you going to condemn the almighty judge?

But it is wrong to say God doesn’t listen, to say the Almighty isn’t concerned.

You say he does not respond to sinners with anger and is not greatly concerned about wickedness.

Elihu continued speaking:

“Pay attention to this, Job. Stop and consider the wonderful miracles of God!

Do you know how God controls the storm and causes the lightning to flash from his clouds?
