    The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.
  2. Like a roaring lion and a rushing bear Is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
  3. The lion, which is mighty among animals And does not retreat from anything,
  4. For whoever is joined to all the living, there is hope; for better a live dog, than a dead lion.

  19. My inheritance has become to Me Like a lion in the forest; She has roared against Me; Therefore I have come to hate her.
  20. He has left His hiding place like the lion; For their land has become a horror Because of the fierceness of the oppressing sword And because of His fierce anger.”
  21. Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase him away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?”
  22. “Israel is a scattered flock, the lions have driven them away. The first one who devoured him was the king of Assyria, and this last one who has gnawed his bones is Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
  23. “Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase them away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?”
