2 Kings 9:21-26
New American Standard Bible
21 Then [a]Joram said, “[b]Get ready.” And they [c]made his chariot ready. (A)Then [d]Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu and found him on the [e](B)property of Naboth the Jezreelite. 22 When [f]Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is your intention peace, Jehu?” And he [g]answered, “What ‘peace,’ (C)so long as your mother Jezebel’s acts of prostitution and witchcraft are so many?” 23 So [h]Joram [i]turned back and fled, and he said to Ahaziah, “(D)There is treachery, Ahaziah!” 24 Then (E)Jehu [j]drew his bow with his full strength and [k]shot [l]Joram between his arms; and the arrow went [m]through his heart, and he sank in his chariot. 25 And Jehu said to Bidkar his officer, “Pick him up and (F)throw him on the [n]property of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember, when [o]you and I were riding together after his father Ahab, that the (G)Lord brought this (H)pronouncement against him: 26 ‘(I)I have certainly seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons,’ declares the Lord, ‘and (J)I will repay you on this [p]property,’ declares the Lord. Now then, pick him up and throw him on the [q]property, in accordance with the word of the Lord.”
