Jesus Heals Two Blind Men

29 (A)And as they went out of Jericho, a great crowd followed him. 30 And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord,[a] have mercy on us, (B)Son of David!” 31 The crowd (C)rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” 32 And stopping, Jesus called them and said, “What do you want me to do for you?” 33 They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” 34 And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

46 (A)And they came to Jericho. And (B)as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, (C)a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47 And when he heard that it was (D)Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 And many (E)rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, (F)“Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” 50 And throwing off his (G)cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. 51 And Jesus said to him, (H)“What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, (I)“Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; (J)your faith has (K)made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar

35 (A)As he drew near to Jericho, (B)a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36 And hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what this meant. 37 They told him, (C)“Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” 38 And he cried out, “Jesus, (D)Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 And those who were in front (E)rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, 41 (F)“What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.” 42 And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; (G)your faith has (H)made you well.” 43 And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, (I)glorifying God. And (J)all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

Jesus and Zacchaeus

19 (K)He entered Jericho and was passing through. And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich. And (L)he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into (M)a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for (N)I must stay at your house today.” So he hurried and came down and (O)received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all (P)grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods (Q)I give to the poor. And if I have (R)defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it (S)fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since (T)he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For (U)the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

The Parable of the Ten Minas

11 As they heard these things, he proceeded to tell a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because (V)they supposed that the kingdom of God was to appear immediately. 12 He said therefore, (W)“A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. 13 Calling (X)ten of his servants,[a] he gave them ten minas,[b] and said to them, ‘Engage in business (Y)until I come.’ 14 But (Z)his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’ 15 When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business. 16 The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten minas more.’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant![c] Because you have been (AA)faithful in a very little, (AB)you shall have authority over ten cities.’ 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made five minas.’ 19 And he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ 20 Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in (AC)a handkerchief; 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are (AD)a severe man. You take (AE)what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 He said to him, (AF)‘I will condemn you with your own words, (AG)you wicked servant! You knew that I was (AH)a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? 23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ 24 And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’ 25 And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’ 26 ‘I tell you that (AI)to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 27 But (AJ)as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and (AK)slaughter them before me.’”

The Triumphal Entry

28 And when he had said these things, (AL)he went on ahead, (AM)going up to Jerusalem.
