Proverbs 13:24-14:4

²⁴^(A)He who spares his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him ^[a]promptly.

²⁵^(B)The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul,
But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.

14 The wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

²He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord,
^(C)But he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.

³In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride,
^(D)But the lips of the wise will preserve them.

⁴Where no oxen are, the ^[b]trough is clean;
But much increase comes by the strength of an ox.
